Anyone recommend a good lipstick for someone with black hair and pale skin? I usually just keep my lips lightly glossed but I would like to try matte without looking like a clown.
Seconding this, but Dose of Color's Truffle, Bare With Me, and Stone (I think that's the name, I'm too lazy to get up and check) are also good, too.If you're looking for a neutral/nude, NYX Liquid Suede in Soft-Spoken or Sandstorm would be nice.
This may be a bit too colored for a nude but it's what I use for nude: Model Co. Dusk Til Dawn.Anyone recommend a good lipstick for someone with black hair and pale skin? I usually just keep my lips lightly glossed but I would like to try matte without looking like a clown.

Julep and ILNP have some amazing duochromes. I won't list specific polish names because there's way too many, but if you're looking for duochromes that apply nicely, those two brands are your best bet.Anyone have any recs for duochrome polishes? I got Essie's For the Twill of It on a whim during livelovepolish's Black Friday sale, and I'd love to get a few others, whether indie or drugstore.
Semi-related: I got my Julep monthly box today. Dat sweet, sweet polish lover's upgrade (where you pay like $20 extra but get all of the polishes from that month's collection)![]()
Anyone interested in indie makeup brands? I've been thinking about pulling the trigger on a Shiro Cosmetics order but I'm hesitant to work with loose powder/pigments. I'm really trying to fill in an eyeshadow collection with singles (z-palette) but Shiro's color selection is just too amazing. Any suggestions or experiences with Shiro or other indie brands?

It can be hit-and-miss, but for the most part, the formula is amazing, especially if you use their base and top coats. (The oxygen bonding basecoat and the oxygen top coat, that is; the Freedom polymer top coat is garbage in my experience.) And the best part is if you sign up for Julep Maven, you get to customize your monthly box, or skip it if money is tight. How is their polish? I've thought about subscribing a thousand times but I'd like to know how the formula actually is before investing...

I love this thread.
Anyone have a great eye cream to recommend? I'm in the preventative stage where I don't have fine lines yet and want to avoid them as long as possible.
Any suggestions for dry, peeling scalp? It's dermatitis rather than dandruff so the antifungal shampoos don't do anything except make it redder and sorer. I use pretty gentle shampoo/conditioner stuff so as not to antagonise it, but I am interested in maybe a balm/lotion I could use if anyone has any suggestions?
Best foundation, bb cream, etc for really pale people with dry skin? I was using the tonymoly pikachu cushion but it's too dark and too dry. I have some missha #13 on the way though.

Too Faced's Born This Way would probably work very well for you. They have a ton of super-pale shades, and it's a very creamy, moisturizing/non-drying formula. I use the shade porcelain, and it's definitely my favorite winter foundation. (My skin gets dry in winter and oily in the summer, so I have winter foundation and summer foundation.)Best foundation, bb cream, etc for really pale people with dry skin? I had to cancel (and then resubscribe a few months later) about a year and a half ago, and I had no problems. Julep has recently expanded their customer service department (which easily is one of the best customer service I've ever dealt with), so a lot of the problems with canceling aren't really problems anymore.I've heard good things about their monthly boxes but I've also heard they can be absolute pains when you try to cancel the subscription. Have you (or anyone else in this thread) got any experience there? I'd be too fidgety for more than a 2-3 month commitment, so.
Edit: Also, thanks so much for the reply!
Korean BB creams are generally pretty great. I personally use etude house but there's a lot of cheap-ish brands. Not really a recommendation but a question since I'm hunting a good bb cream myself- have you tried the Holika Holika petit jelly? I was gonna order some after my paycheck cleared but haven't really gotten to talk to anyone about it.
