What color were you thinking of doing on the underside? That's the only thing that really needs to be considered. You want something that will look good with your skin tone and not clash with the natural tone of your hair (if you have reddish undertones in your hair, for example, blue-based colors aren't going to look as good).

The placement would more or less be the same whether you had a fringe or not. Your hair texture, density, and layers in your cut will have an effect on how much of the color you see, but no matter what, it'll still be a diffused effect.

Tyrian purple or Prussian blue were among the candidates. My actual hair color is something like this.

Straight eyebrows and double buns have been my thing for a while. Especially with the glitter being added to the buns.
Has anyone tried out Kylie's new lip kit? I'm not too fond of her but I do like the colors. I heard some complaints that the brush sticks came out sloppy.

So, for all my oily-skinned kiwis, I have an update on that Nip + Fab primer I bought a week or so ago.

This shit is AMAZING. I turn into a grease pit about this time every year and normally, at the end of the day, my face is so oily I can just take a towel and slide my foundation right off. But with this new primer, I'm barely getting any breakthrough shine, just a little on my forehead and cheeks, easily managed with some mattifying powder.

For anyone interested, this is what to look for:

I just bought a new tube of Too Faced Shadow Insurance but when that runs out I might try the eye version of this stuff, too.

I've heard that the new formulation basically rebranded Colourpop, except with her name slapped on it and a pricetag to match.

I started using a safety razor to shave my legs and I get such a close shave now with half the skin irritation and save a ton of money on cartridge razors; 100 replacement blades for 10 bucks. For reference Venus blades are currently selling at 8 replacement blades for about 10 bucks on Amazon. The shaving industry is a racket.

I just started using generic men's disposable razors. I get a better shave with them anyway, I'm allergic to most of the stuff they put in the moisture strips on women's razors, and they're way cheaper.

Years ago I used cartridge razors and they were the worst. I'll never go back to that.

How's the learning curve on those? I hate buying razors and do that "rub it down your arm/a piece of leather but not so you're using the blades" to keep the blades clean but I don't really have fast-growing hair or really thick leg forests.

I got too cheap once and bought a disposable from the dollar store. On its second use it took an inch strip from above my ankle which in my many years of shaving is the only shaving wound I've ever acquired.

I got my first shower jelly from Lush and boy oh boy was it fun! I got the Whoosh scent and the novelty of washing myself with a jiggly blob hasn't worn off yet.

So, I can't put on eyeliner. I flinch like an idiot if it so much as comes close to my eye. Any of you fine kiwis know a way around this, or maybe some ways to go around using it?

I found it to be much more intuitive than expected although YMMV. It's kind of slow going at first, mostly because you're relearning all the awkward angles (like behind the legs), and I transitioned into it by using a cartridge for the most difficult angles when I was in a hurry until I got the hang of it. I've never sustained more injury than a slight nick under my knee a few times, but I'm also a patient person.

I tried those for a long time but could never get a very close shave without major razor burn, and permanently prickly legs is even more annoying than leg beard. I think body hair density plays a huge part in this though.

You just have to get used to it, I think. A trick that'll help keep your hand steady, if you ever can stop flinching, is you can keep your pinky finger resting on your cheek. Works wonders.

Does having a straight razor used in haircuts for wavy hair make it look better
If so where could I find them

My hair is pretty wavy and I only use razors, but it depends on how much volume, texture, etc. you want in your hair. I like a lot of texture and have to remove a ton of volume because I have 20 pounds of hair, so it's razors and thinning shears for me, lol.

If you have a Sally's, or possibly even an Asian beauty supply, you can get a razor there.

I too ride the thick hair bus. I got an undercut at a salon back in March and gave myself an upkeep buzz a few weeks ago. It was my first time using clippers on myself but since I've cut my own hair for a while I'm good at feeling the back of my head and visualizing it. Didn't stop me from freaking out that I'd shaved a huge strip across the back of my head.

and taking the short hair from 1" to 1/4" looked like soot sprites took over the bathroom.

Thanks for reminding me to go get more razors, @fire_fly. My stylist always used to fake complain that my hair would dull hers after a few segments. Place always looked like it had haystacks of dark brown/blonde/red/pink hair after she was done with me.

weeell, I was pleasantly surprised to get my first Ipsy bag this month and I love it!!

Crazy Rumors HibisKiss Natural Lip Color in Coral This might be my favorite out of all of the stuff I got. I'm a sucker for lip products and this color is pretty much my natural lip color but smoother and shimmery so it's literally perfect for me

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Caribbean Sun Bronzer Duo lol I've never used bronzer before but from what I can tell it's really nice and I like the colors! The packaging is cool too

IT Cosmetics No-Tug Waterproof Mini Gel Eyeliner in Black Normally I hate pencil liners because almost all of them are stupidly hard for me to apply without basically ripping my eyelid apart. Then I tried this. I don't hate pencil liners anymore.

Vera Mona Eye Smudger Brush I really like that Ipsy sends brushes too since I have hardly any. When I messed up my wings with the aforementioned eyeliner (I can't even remember the last time I attempted wings with a pencil liner lol) this brush let me salvage them instead of having to start over

Aurora Gel Effect Nail Polish in Safety Orange I haven't tried this one yet but I'm really excited to see how well it dries! The color is really good for summer too so I see myself wearing this a lot in the next few months

oh also the bag it came in is super cute!!

also this is all high-quality/obscure stuff I'm getting for $10/month and damn if that's not a good deal I don't know what is

basically I'm incredibly happy with it and it's definitely worth it and I plan to continue my subscription for a very very extremely super long time

Recently, friends that also have naturally kinky hair have told me to buy this. They say it's better than using a normal t-shirt to dry your hair, but I don't see the point of buying a t-shirt explicitly for something I do once a week, not when a normal one works fine.

Maybe I'm just a sucker for beauty gadgets, even simple stuff like that, but my first thought was "Finally, something for when my hair gets long and takes literally all day to air-dry!" My hair isn't curly, more wavy, but it's thick and very over-processed and I don't blow-dry unless I absolutely have to. So I dunno, I might invest in one of those in a few months. It might be more worth it for me since I wash my hair every other day, though.

Speaking of haircare stuff, I gotta tell you guys about this new brand that I'm in love with. We got VERB recently in the store I work in, and it's fucking amazing. The breakthrough product for me, though, is the hairspray, because normally I hate hairspray.

This stuff is so light it feels like nothing, yet it gives a great shine and keeps my frizz in check. Also, apparently Sephora is carrying this line now, and just FYI- it retails for $14, which is ludicrously cheap for professional haircare. Especially stuff this good. I highly recommend VERB, everything I've used has been awesome. And I really hope this line blows up, because it could change a lot of things in the beauty industry, in a good way.

Maybe when I have stable employment again I'll get an ipsy bag subscription. That's really not a lot of money and the quality is impressive I mean goddamn. I bet it's like mini Christmas once a month!

I'm a sucker for safety orange/traffic cone/oh god my eyes colors.
