I agree with dressing to fit the occasion. But I also work some dirty manual labor jobs so dressing up and going out is a special occasion for me. I do think it's funny when I come straight from work and people think I'm in their store "up to no good". Legit had one woman say something completely left field, I think she though I was homeless.
I don't think body hair is inherently nasty or uncouth, I just don't agree with the double standard and people getting mad at me for questioning it.

it isn’t nasty or uncouth! it’s a totally normal part of being human. my boujee inner city ass just doesn’t like it lol! and if women feel socially obligated to remove it, men should too! leg hair is fine; it’s the sack and crack and stomach and butt hair that gets to me! yuuuuuck!!!! but I also know some women LOVE a hairy man. I can’t relate. sure I want him to be hairier than me but yetis need not apply. keep that shit under control. you got the same access to hair removal as the rest of us. use it.

I wouldn't want to inflict the burden of shaving a whole body on men, I know male models do it but fuck, I hate shaving my legs enough. I can't imagine having to shave my entire body every couple days. My husband, like many men, does minimum effort everything. He would never spend so time doing hair removal.

Guys have it so easy. Can't get rid of every inequality though since we're so fundamentally different.

I was just talking to my husband about how it's annoying that nobody dresses up anymore. I have some fancy outfits and a little designer wear, but I can't wear it anywhere without looking overdressed because it's become socially acceptable to wear jeans and hoodies everywhere. My sibling graduated college and people there were dressed like they were going to Wal-Mart.

I will absolutely go to a place with an established dress code. Ruths Chris Steakhouse supposedly has one but I've seen people there in ripped jeans and tank tops.

Boomers and Xers had this attitude of, "I'm paying enough to eat here to dress however I want!" because the idea that fine dining is about more than shoveling expensive food in your face was completely lost on them. Not letting later generations off the hook here, they're even worse.

Going Out. to dress befitting the occasion, to accentuate whatever is special about it. I swear it is just another symptom of the anglospheres lazy entitlement and taking everything for absolute granted. fashion is fun, dressing up is fun, being able to afford a nice dinner out or a theatre show is fun. to me dressing up is just part of savouring the experience and amplifying it in my memory.
Some were ever taught until adulthood and had to learn on their own what constitutes "dressing nice".
Also nice clothes can be expensive. I wish there was a simple list of "Nice clothes" for women like there is for men (i.e. A suit as a go-to)

Our skin is different, hormones are different, even the way the connective tissue lies in our skin is different.

Damn hobos! Trying to steal my fancy products!

Yeah, but who would have taught them?

Over the holidays Mr. Cool Dude and I went to see a play that had a formal dress code and it was nice, but it caused our peers a little bit of stress because its so uncommon, now.

As far as dressing nice for women goes: Natural Fabric, Classic cuts. And just accessorize around it. Find a silhouette that works best for your body and get a really nice garment in that silhouette.

I made these glow in the dark flower nails w builder gel. Kinda proud. Only 1 hand. Never really wear nails but I want to paint and sell false ones, so, practice. Kinda fun tbh
Nail art is honestly a whole other world of skill. I struggle to keep my hands steady when working on such small little canvases, so I appreciate the work that goes into it.

I don't think I'd ever be able to pull off a fancy nail look myself, but I love looking at others work. They get so elaborate.

You and me both. I just don't have the "look" to pull it off. I've even tried tame versions and I end up looking like:

Dark solid colors and neutral tones for me it is.

It's really not asking much to "dress up," so fuck whomever thinks it's "too hard/unreasonable." If you have the money to dine out, then you have the money to "dress up."

For example, you can get a classy-looking blazer, black/grey slacks and some generic flats (and pair them with any old black shirt or tank top) for, like, under $40 at places like TJ Maxx or Burlington Coat Factory. Fuck it, you could probably get all of that shit at Goodwill for likely much less.

Point is, there is absolutely no excuse to not adhere to a dress code (unless you legit live in a cardboard box on the street, which would then mean you can't afford to dine at a fancy place anyway). Because, like I've said, if you HAVE the disposable income to eat at a fancy place you can certainly afford some "nice" attire to do so, ffs.

I guess most of my casual outfits would qualify as "fancy" in some places. I love wearing longer skirts because they're comfortable and flowy (and I love everything that flows), and I still have a lot of black clothes from my gothy phase, although I wear some more color nowadays. Black top, black skirt, black flats is a very casual "dunno what else to wear today" outfit for me. Rarely looks out of place.

I have a lot of other clothes to play around with, especially in summer, but that's the perfect fallback outfit for every occasion.

Hi ladies , does anyone know what this app is?
It's definitely not #bronzerfilter
Actually, it is. According to what I could find that is the name of it on TikTok. There are apparently even more filters that will give you similar lines for your blush and highlighter.

ETA - search for "cheek contour"

Since we don't seem to have a perfume/cologne thread, imma just gonna put it in here.

From a male perspective:

There is no magic panty dropper, whatever the marketing agencies want to tell. There is, however, a fully functional Karen/well-preserved-middle-manager-attractant, and it's called Bvlgari Man in Black. Sickly sweet on application, but dries down to an lasting irisy base that, according to a number of aforementioned Karens, smells like pure money.

My personal fave in colognes (Lalique Encre Noir) seems to be a purpose designed pussy repellent ( well, their problem not mine), and I consider myself shit as a ladies man, so take it for what it's worth...

Best cologne Ive ever smelled was Burberry. For women, that yellow striped Giorgi smells like cat piss to me. I have a bad hate for that smell.
But I do think the manly earthy toned smells work for me.

Re Spicebomb

That would be the "Orient" version of MiB. Which I personally like better, but doesn't have the same effect.

Once again, I'm not really a cologne guy, just find it funny that one specific product is so liked by one specific demographic.

I just looked at Bvlgari Black and all I could think was "70 Euros????"

I never cared about any of this shit because it always felt like putting lipstick on a pig to me.
It was cheaper before, cheaper than Spicebomb. It's the opposite now.
The moment a scent gain popularity, doesn't matter if it's some years since release. It spikes up in price.

I do want to try it, but paying big buck for a cheap fragrance. That's a hard one.

Bvlgari BLACK (in a round, rubber rimmed "tire" bottle) is a discontinued, "unisex but more for wimminz" stuff.
Cost prolly due to rarity.

They got a few extra years out of it due to Angelina Jolie. I blind bought a bottle of it for my gf (for cheap) like 5 years ago, and while I thought it was kinda ok, she hated it. Basically, auto parts store, tire rack mostly, and vanilla air fresheners. If you ground said air fresheners into powder, and snorted them right up your nose...

Bvlgari Man (in Black), cost like 29 euros for 40 ml on a sale last time I looked ( a year or two ago). Black, rectangular bottle.
