Anyone have recommendations for where I could get decent odd-colored lipstick? Like outside the pinks and reds range, more like blues and violets.

If you're willing to try indie brands, there's Fierce Magenta (just a side note, their glosses kinda suck, but the lipsticks are good), Geek Chic Cosmetics, and Fyrinnae, and Darling Girl Cosmetics has these amazing, super-pigmented balm glosses that come in all sorts of colors, one being a sparkly emerald green that looks fully opaque over a dark lipliner. I've also heard good things about Impulse Cosmetics and I've wanted to try them forever, I just haven't gotten to them yet. I tried Limnit Lipsticks as well and I loved the colors but they were matte and I have a really hard time with matte lipsticks so I haven't really gone back.

I can second the NYX and Colourpop recommendations, too. They're awesome!

Edit: OH MY GOD I FORGOT MY FAVE. House of Beauty CO is my favorite place to buy lipstick, period. They come in little pots and you put them on with a brush like you would a gloss, but they set to a semi-matte finish and they wear really well. Kill Bill and Kathryn are go-to colors for me. Knew I was forgetting something, lol.

My best friend got me this blue wing shawl for Christmas. It's super pretty but not really my style so I just keep it over my shoulders around the apartment.

You can get them here, but apparently they take forever to ship. It was ordered as a christmas present but just showed up the other day...

So pretty *_*

I agree, but I don't really wear the bohemian style clothes so I've got nothin' to wear it with besides maybe a black tank top or sweater for the sake of being neutral. I hope I'm not being wasteful, apparently this thing costs almost sixty bucks! (:_(

My boyfriend got me a bunch of Bath and Body works stuff for Christmas! Then his parents gave me even more!

(obvs i've used a bit of it since Christmas)

Also, I think my boyfriend might like B&BW even more than I do now. And that's the opposite of a problem. :heart-full:

Oh man, that Winter Candy Apple shower gel is pretty great. I tend to go for fruity scents when I go there (peach and apple mainly). I also dig Dark Kiss, but I need to wait until it comes back.

That aside, my new favorite store is Torrid (because their jeggings are amazing). On Monday, I got myself a new pair of dark blue ones and a grey v-neck on clearance for less than 50 bucks thanks to their Haute Cash promotion.

Dark kiss smells kind of like froot loops when people wear it. Which is weird 'cause it doesn't smell like that in the bottle.

I don't mind smelling like Fruit Loops honestly. I much prefer their peach scents like these two discontinued ones; Georgia Peach & Sweet Tea and Sparkling Peach. Kinda hope they come back with the former at least.

Their leggings are awesome too. They last me longer than any other kind I've tried and they're actually long enough, which is nice. Mine are getting really big on me cos I've lost some weight, but I don't think I've quite made it to the next size down so I haven't gone to get more yet...

Let's be real though, Lularoe leggings are dabes leggings ever.

I'm really proud of my nails for a change. I'm only a beginner at stamping, but I think my placement has been getting a little better. (The purple nail polish is called "Velocity").

Hey, Question. Can anyone recommend some good, durable preferably inexpensive matte black tights? That'd fit a 6' 3" 180 lb fellow. I'm trying to avoid buying dancer's tights

I've always been intimidated by stamping, not gonna lie ;-; what would you recommend for a beginner?

Oh jeez, there's a list of supplies I would recommend. At the very least, I wished I had had all of these at the beginning.

1. Pueen or MoYou plates come highly recommended. Try to avoid "gimmicky" designs as you may not get as much use out of them as some more classic ones - like, say, roses or stripes. Case in point, I have two goth plates I barely touch. Pick stamping plates appropriate for your preferred nail length.
2. ACETONE. A BIG OLE BOTTLE OF ACETONE. This is great for cleanup around the edges of your nails, but you also definitely need it for cleaning the plates. Normal nail polish remover may leave a residue.
3. White paper and black paper to practice on. The black paper is great if you have pale stamping polishes, and for testing potential opacity on top of dark nail polishes.
4. Sticky tape! This is great for lifting off the residue around your nail, and it's a shitload gentler than regularly using acetone.
5. Cuticle oil.
6. Black stamping polish. Great to start off with. Any nail polish that is totally opaque in one coat can be used for stamping, though, which is why all of my metallic stamping polishes are just bog standard ones.
7. Nail brushes. You might have to fill in some voids, and they're great for cleanup when dipped in NPR or acetone.
8. A squishy stamper, like the MoYou one I recommended above. These pick up designs really well.
9. A scraper. These usually come with any stamper so unless you get a shit one you shouldn't need to invest in one.
10. A quick drying top coat, like Seche Vite or the HK Girl topcoat.

That's all I can really think of. You probably already have most of that stuff already.

Awesome, thanks so much for the info! Quick question, what method do you use for cleanup? Your mani looked so crisp and clean *_*

No problem! I'm happy to help :D For cleaning up the nail polish underneath, I used a teeny nail brush dipped in acetone. I just wiped off the excess acetone on a cotton pad so it didn't run onto my nail. For cleaning up the stamping round the edges, I used sticky tape to remove as much as I could. Then I used acetone again for the fiddly bits that the tape wouldn't pick up.
