I love Too Faced. It's one of my favorite brands. I'll admit part of it is the very cute packaging, but I like the actual products too. My friend gave me a cocoa contour palette I use every day. I use some of their blushes regularly. I just rebought Better than Sex mascara after using Smashbox XRated for awhile. I got their lip injection gloss recently and it works really well. One thing I don't love is their candlelight highlighter, but it's not bad, it's just not a personal favorite, I still use it tho.

I'm thinking about getting some new stuff from Too Faced - namely the hangover primer (don't use primer currently), the chocolate bon bons palette, their eyeshadow primer, and maybe some new blush. Anyone have any thoughts on the palette? I don't wear eyeshadow very often, but I like the colors.

I want to like some of it but so much of it is obviously instagram aimed. The silvery highlighter trend already looks dated, even though I think it's kinda cool still.

A couple of stupid trendy things I'm tempted by are lavender lipgloss and Too Faced glitter eyeliner. I really just want the glitter eyeliner to wear with one lolita coord lol so its probably not worth it.

For perfumes - has anyone tried Tokyo Milk? I had a sample of Pretty Rotten and it was one of my favorite perfumes. Some of their other stuff smells really good too.

I like vanille abricot by sud pacifique. It's a good everyday perfume.
 
I bought the deer dress. Also didn't realize until right now you're supposed to tie the belt in front, but oh well.

I'm incredibly picky about perfume and Tokyo m.ilk's Gin and Rosewater has been my signature scent for years. If you don't do perfume all of their scents come in really nice hand creams.

I'd love a lot of DollsKill clothes, to wear once and have photos taken model-style.

But that's about it lol.

The "Current Mood" clothes are usually pretty good.
 
A few beauty and fashion-related questions I have (because getting some perspective from complete strangers might be the most honest and helpful):

1. What do people think of the recent Mugler "Aura" fragrance? I'm a huge fan of Alien (not so much Angel), so would an Alien fan like myself enjoy Aura? I feel like a lot of people's scent descriptions stink when it comes to Aura so I don't know what to expect with it at all.

2. I am well-aware that it is a total no-no to wear an all white dress to a wedding as a guest. Would a pink and white floral maxi dress be appropriate though? I recently lost a few inches off my waist and have discovered that a lot of the dresses I have look like a potato sack on me now ... Except for a particular maxi dress that I've only worn once years ago ... And I really don't feel like buying yet another dress to my ever-obnoxiously-growing wardrobe unless I need to (it sucks going to several special occasions so close together with the same circle of people; can never re-wear a dress these days).

Is your circle ultra-strict about this kind of thing? Are you able to contact the bride to ask her opinion? IMO, I would think this dress is pink, at a distance.

If all else fails, wear a belt with any of your other dresses. Can't say anything about the perfume.

I tried using Veet, and it left a nasty pong after use. How do I get it out?

The friends/social circle I'm with in this event don't come across as super strict. In fact, I've asked for some of their opinions about the dress. They've said that the dress looks more pink as well, one girl plans on wearing green and white, and another girl plans on blue and white. I'd say that if my dress ends up offending someone, then at least I won't be alone?

It's the bride and some of her friends that I'm not sure about. It's a good idea to just ask her, but that option is a last resort kind of thing (because I'm sure she doesn't want to have to worry about what a guest is wearing on the week of her wedding). It's encouraging that I haven't heard a flat-out "Don't wear that!" yet, though.

I guess a good rule of thumb is to "wear something that I wouldn't mind seeing at my own wedding," but honestly, I was a bride who didn't sweat that stuff. If someone had worn a fully white dress to my wedding, I wouldn't have cared (but I completely understand why others would care). I'm the type to definitely care about whether I'm offending someone else, so I may just be completely overthinking it.

Thanks, good to know! My dress should be fine then, especially since the pink colors are actually much brighter and less pastel in person than on the website picture.
 
And, that is a pretty dress btw, I neglected to mention that. Perfect for a summer wedding.

For reference about dress colors, see the brouhaha over Kate's outfit to Harry and Megan's wedding. That is what they mean.
 
Thanks! It's honestly one of my favorite dresses I've ever owned, and I've been bummed that I haven't had a chance to wear it more than once.

Since the dress is 90% cherry blossoms and mainly pink, I would say that's perfectly fine for a wedding. Like the others said, a second opinion from the bride would also be helpful.
 
You asked about Mugler Aura - it's a nice perfume, a little more unique and green than most designer frags though. It's a lot of vanilla and rhubarb - a bit of greenery, mint, a tiny bit of almond - generally nice, not sure why it's so unpopular really.

I've been dipping into Zoologist quite a bit lately, I have several bottles. If you're feeling adventurous, I'd recommend giving them a try. The green/tea perfumes are too overwhelming for me, but I'm in love with Nightingale and Camel.

I bought a Juvia's place palette (Little Masquerade) and jesus the shades are gorgeous. So far I'm very impressed with the texture. It's just as pigmented as other palettes I own but somehow the matte shades had like, no fallout. If anyone else is tempted by one of their palettes, I say go for it. I wish I hadn't waited this long.
 
Alright y'all, give me recommendations for nail polish. I don't care too much about makeup (though I do love eyeliner... even though I'm shit at putting it on :oops:), but I have a massive fucking addiction to nail polish. Every time I come across a nail polish isle/stand I want to just buy them all. My nails are totally fucked but I found out that if I paint them, even when they look like crap, it helps me not fuck with them so they can grow out all nice... and then the polish will look even nicer! Best plan.

Speaking of makeup though one thing I do want to try wearing is some sort of BB cream kind of stuff to help with my pores/maybe some redness? When I put mine on though my face just... flakes. Do I need to put a primer under it? (I assume so.) I'm also going to find a good moisturizer, too.
