Everything I've ever done has been a complete waste of time.
Idea #1: delegate/outsource the research and notes prep to someone else, a sooper sekrit group, or even crowdsource it. You already ask for ideas and new happenings in this thread sometimes, this would be the next level beyond that.
Idea #2: get a cohost that can review notes and factcheck during the stream. It doesn't have to be someone on stream with you 100% of the time if you think that would be weird; I'm thinking of something like "Pardon the Interruption" on ESPN where at the very end they had Tony Reali correcting errors and omissions. Maybe you check in after each segment?
Idea #3: fuck the album art, get the RSS and spotify shit out on the most basic barebones shit imaginable. I know you like the album art and it can get pretty funny/interesting, but it can be added later instead of delaying the release of the audio entirely.
I admit I use the site less these days compared to during covid as every comment in threads I was interested in now seems to just be "sneed" "nigger" or "lol" and other reddit level meme responses but the podcast has always been a great way to catch up.
Trying to cover global news and site specific news is alot to fit into one show so its very understandable that you don't have time to look into why a fat retard and his gay boyfriend who used to play video games on Youtube are upset. The show is always much higher quality and funnier when you do know the situation unfolding like Ethan, Nick or personal stories but the blind first impressions can be funny too.
I've noticed the comments are always just flooded with retards saying "null doesn't know that tuba croc 2 came out before u titled fetish game REEE" but the average commenter is a retard and obviously isnt going to provide anything of value (source, im a professional retard).
It can be discouraging but theres a lurker/watcher audience there enjoying the background noise at work or while driving. its appreciated.

Bro most (almost all) comments in this thread have been overwhelmingly supportive of you taking a hiatus if needed. You’re never going to have 100% of people support you or every decision you make.
I read the comments on the Oneyplays video and half of them were just complaining I "feign ignorance" and one guy just asked "If you don't know what you're talking about why even have a show" and I felt like, that's a good question. Why do I have a show? I can't dedicate any time to research and obviously just trying to give people first impressions only pisses them off so what the fuck am I even doing. I only ever started to humanize myself and do outreach for the site and that's done fuck all because more people hate me now than ever before and the site's reputation is worse than the lolicon sites so fuck it. I can't get a single contact in any DDoS mitigation company and the site's going to die because of it so I'm wasting my fucking time talking to people and I'm wasting their time talking about shit I don't have a fucking clue about.
I will miss the next couple of friday streams, they really set the tone when i'm doing maintenance on my machine. i will love to hear/see what you do for ddos shit and how much you screamed at claude to fix shit.

I was thinking the same thing. 90% of the posts are positive talking about how much they love the show, and 10% are purposely trying to get under his skin. I think he's just really stressed right now.
In his defense I think Josh may be the only Internet personality who regularly complains about the current state of things and how they effect his livelihood instead of wanting to mock him I think "damn dude I would also be at the end of my rope if I was in your shoes."
I am perfectly fine with there being a hiatus on mati streams if there will be more gumroad/locals content. And besides that, I need to get more blank vhs tape stock whenever the hiatus is lifted.
