Hasbro has recorded a $56 million impairment charge against its video game portfolio, confirming it has cancelled "several" games scheduled for release in 2028 and beyond.
In a presentation to shareholders, Hasbro CEO Chris Cocks revealed the company had "reviewed [its] portfolio and updated [its] plans for Hasbro’s digital future."
"That work included canceling several games scheduled for release in 2028 and beyond and recording a $56 million non-cash write-down this quarter for related capitalized costs," he added.
"The write-down reflects the standard we are applying to the portfolio. We are focusing our digital investment behind the franchises, platforms, and partners where we see the clearest upside and where Hasbro has the strongest right to win."
Looking ahead, Hasbro has committed to four priorities for its video game projects–focus, cost discipline, ownable platforms, and partnership. This includes a new focus on "trading card games and role-playing games," decreasing expenditure, prioritizing its own IP, and finding the right partners for these projects. Cocks cited Scopely's Monopoly Go as a successful example of this.
Back in March, Cocks said that he believed that the video game industry needs to "think about things differently," reflecting upon the "massive cost inflation" of delivering AAA games.
You should do a planted tank like the walstad method, takes a bit to get the plants started but they are very low mantanace once established. The plants act as a natural filter as the fish waste is essentially fertilizer for them. Don't put any nice fish in till its established as it takes time for the biological cycle to get established and some will die in the begininng. I have a beta, a dozen neon tetras and some Cory cats in my 30gal. Only have to trim the plants and a half water change every 3 to 6 months.

Honestly I've considered creating a thread on the Jeopardy tranny that won a bunch of games but I haven't exactly found much milk with the guy since he doesn't show up as much as he used to. I did make a thread though on another contestant who lost to said tranny and seems to try to kiss ass to LFJ and try to get in his orbit, only that Elliot doesn't show him any attention at all whatsoever.
If you plan on moving within the next year or two, don't buy a fish tank unless you have someone you plan on dumping it on. Even a 10 gal is a massive bitch to move and reassemble.
Just saw that the MATI youtube channel uploaded a short vid on Spoony. Seeing that Josh didn't really watch Spoony back in the day, I highly recommend giving this a watch.
I know it's pretty long but thankfully this video cut out most of the awful skits.

what's weird is that the somali just sounds like the nicest guy in the entire video. I wanted to hate him for being a lightbulb head but he was very nice.

Spoony's Ultima series was his best work but it has been absolutely mogged by Majuular's ongoing series. Way more informative about the development of these games and the PC game industry in general along with no extremely cringe skits.
We called them Nigtecs because they were so cheap and shitty. There was one pistol they made where you could change the barrel, chamber and striker by just stripping the upper and sliding in the new one. It was goofy as fuck to fire but fun to pop off a clip of 9mm, strip it and slide in a magazine and you were at .45 assuming it fired every round in the clip (That pistol was notorious for not fully engaging the striker. It added some excitement to the experience).
I paid about 500 all in for it and four barrels.

Yeah he does sound like a nice guy. They all do, honestly. They seem nice and well-intentioned, albeit dumb, But honestly that's part of the fucking problem.
I dunno if you've ever been, but Seattle is an absolute shit hole right now, full of fucking crime. We don't need these nice guys sending out four fucking cops to deal with this vagrant. Tell him to fuck off once, if he doesn't comply arrest him. Even when they're yelling commands at him they still say "please." When they've got him on the ground they all have to remind each other "he's under power!" and to not go too far. They have a fucking mental health session for the cops with hugs and everything at the end, just... God dammit it makes me so sad. Seattle used to be an awesome place and nothing is being done to clean things up.
