Postal is Boll's only movie with any kind of quality because it succeeds in being a funny comedy. You can watch the whole thing on youtube because nobody cares.

Most of his movies don't even get to the point of being so bad it's good. Wisaeu, Boll is not. Hell, Tommy Wiseau has spent the rest of his life trying to replicate the lightning in the bottle that was The Room and has fallen on his face ever since. The only Boll movie that came anywhere close to good critical reception was Rampage. Even Jim Sterling gave it "praise".

It's preposterous because the movie is complete ass and was only applauded because of it's perceived "unflinching" portrayal of violence. I have a vague, and possibly imagined, memory of Boll making the movie as a critique of American love of guns and violence while having school shootings and whatever other dipshit shitlib talking point. Jim even talks about the shaky, documentary style of the movie as a way that forces you to be an observer of the killing spree and I don't believe that's the intention. The intention, I believe, is that the shaky cam was used in the biggest action movies of the aughts, the first two Jason Bourne movies. Boll tried to copy that and it sorta worked out for him.

I say all of that because of the hub bub around Citizen Vigilante. Everyone is all hyped up because Boll made a movie about a white guy mowing down muzzies in current year. Fucking Elon retweeted the movie because "it's the movie Hollywood DOESN'T want you to see!". I've not seen much talk about if the movie is even watchable. The ONLY shit I've seen is the weird right wing accounts on twitter splooging over the scene where the main guy mercs a bunch of darkies. That shit is apparently in the last 5-10 minutes of the film. This means that a violent and mildly insane German man holds you hostage for almost 2 hours just to get to the thing that's getting the most buzz. I just wanna caution everyone to not get on the "this movie is fucking b-b-b-b-based" bandwagon because of one singular money shot and forced hype. Boll made porn for libshits in 2009 with Rampage and it looks like he has made porn for conservatards with this.

House of the Dead, Bloodrayne and In The Name of the King are some other hilariously bad Uwe Boll movies that are actually enjoyable to watch. Mostly because they have actual casts instead of z-list nobodies. His movie version of Far Cry and Blubberella (which, you might be able to guess, is about an obese female vampire) are so bad that they loop back around. The entire rest of his catalogue of films are straight up slop for hogs at the trough.

One thing about the price of games not being reasonable is their cost mainly comes from bloated dev teams. You have a team of upwards of thousands of people all needing to be paid a "fair" wage. There were games in the 90s and earlier thst cost around $90 back then, however, and this is something a lot of people seem to leave out, is that we had rentals. So you didn't need to buy the game, you could just go to blockbuster and rent a copy for a week or 2 if need be.

Another thing that went into the cost of games was the cartridge. The N64 cartridge cost about $35 alone, then you add in all the other things like licensing and such, you need to sell at like $50 minimum just to break even.

Lastly is market size in general. Gaming was a niche hobby. It waan't nearly as big as it is now, and a game selling 1 million copies was a huge achievement. I think one of the original numbers I heard for Okami for PS2 was around 800k sales, which meant the production at the time broke even. Now we have companies just hoping the consumers can buy 3-4 copies each so they can earn a profit. Dead Space 3 returned a profit, but, EA stated that it would not continue the series because it only earned about $60 million profit, and not $300 million. Not a joke. They said a game needs to sell 5 million copies to be considered a success.

Neopets was made by a bunch of college students when they weren't allowed to have pets in their dorms. Iirc they sold it to Scientologists in 2000, but then it got wrangled back by a few of the OG team. I tried to play it recently. The admin team allows LGBT+ shit and has pride events. You also can't really customize your pets unless you pay money. I played the most before Neocash was involved and it just sucks. My entire neopets house was gone and the furniture and items are unusable. The most active people are Millennials. They've been trying to make a mobile version of the site for an embarrassing amount of time. Idk if they've succeeded. It's pathetic. If the game or company sucks, don't buy it! It's baffling to me how people will endlessly complain about some shitty game or shitty studio and still buy their stuff.
There is decades of good games you can look to in the past, where you have the benefit of retrospect to single out the ones that were truly great.
The same applies to movies, TV, literature, so on. If what is produced today sucks, don't partake. It's entertainment, you are not being forced to!

The audio of the hazbin/ongezellig/gameoverse recording is completely ruined. There's audio popping constantly in the tracks PPP and the media audio is recorded to, and in the master track PPP is in duplicate and the media audio is popping. I spent like an hour trying to repair the audio track for the media but then I realized PPP was also popping and I don't have a different recording for that.

I've been trying to record on Arch and audio management on Linux is the most nightmarish piece of shit ever, somehow even worse than Windows. I've been wanting to start recording these on Linux because that's my work station and I am constantly running stuff that takes a full 45+ minutes to shut down gracefully and a full 45+ minutes to restart when I get back to it, so it's a massive pain in the ass to dualboot back into Windows twice a week instead of just for the Friday streams. It fucking sucks to have to completely unwind my entire workstation that's got 40 fucking console tabs open twice a week. I didn't even want to do it for Friday, if anyone remembers when I first rebuilt my computer I was trying to stream through a VM.
