Null's philosophy that there is no truly, or inherently selfless action is totally correct. You give people a bunch of moral virtues, ask them to sort them based from Best to Worst, and they sort them in accordance with their own personality/lifestyle. And since we are evolved beings with instincts and psychology it's probably the case that no inherently selfless action can even be moral because it would inevitably be a form of profound self-abasement where you masochistically throw pearls before swine. And then there's the paradox where any expectation that people don't consider themselves, or those closest to them, is itself a selfish wish that is imposed upon them.
Morality obviously evolved to describe prosocial actions which are widely beneficial, not devoid of ego to every degree. The theory of mind behind selfish people is that they prioritize their fleeting and immediate needs, don't think about others at all, and can't be trusted to stay when the going gets tough. Being the opposite of these things is what determines generosity and selflessness.
But I think Null's Russian Civil War analogy is backwards actually!
I think the White Russians, who want the status quo but for conflicting and aggrieved reasons are the left/libtards tearing at one another over Gaza, while the Red Russians are the Right with groups like the Pro-Life Lobby being the Communists.
It is incredible the extent to which pro-lifers, like Matt Walsh, want to sacrifice the entire effort on being against abortion (frankly because I do actually think he is a deeply misogynistic man; women in the rest of the developed world approve of sensible abortion restrictions but that won't be good enough for someone like him). It's subversive in the way the Communists behaved. After everyone else wins the fight they say Christ Is Kang and then claim everything was done for the sake of Christianity™. In truth I've never met anyone who explains what any of these people do. They don't even speak for their fellow coreligionists' political priorities. The Online Religious Right has contributed nothing I can name. Memes about Black IQ scores have done more to move the needle than they have. They just imitate a sense of deeper principle that people want to respect at first.
On paper the Right is more divided but... Pro-Lifers can't win referendums in deep red states, there are maybe 5 digits of larpagans globally, libertarians only exist online, and everyone else seems to say they'll vote Democrat then just not vote anyway. Left Wing feuds are actually big because nobody can be the Pro-TransGazan Genocide Guy and live it down.
