It reminds me of what happened to Justina Pelletier, who likewise was kidnapped from her family by insane doctors and her father had a gag order placed on him by a judge who wanted to prevent him from being able to seek help getting back custody despite her condition deteriorating rapidly since the doctors refused to treat her medical condition and tried to tell her it was just in her head (it wasn't).
