When Leelah Alcorn died I remember finding it off putting that people were drawing fan art of this dead teenager. I was worried it would encourage other trans kids on Tumblr to commit suicide to be made into a martyr if their parents stood in the way of their transition. I especially found the phrase "rest in power" very suggestive that you can achieve more with your life by killing yourself for the cause.
Three years later I see fan art of that dead teenager on this middle aged man's alter, he's literally worshiping this teenager who threw themselves in front of a mans truck.
