To use lucas's own reasoning - if older men in 'age gap relationships' are represented by fermentation of fine alcohol in a barrel to make a silver fox that is with a 20 year old in a relationship, lucas is the slimy worthless dregs at the bottom of the barrel that get thrown out because they're disgusting and nobody has any use for them. This isn't new, but it was new to me, and just... wow. I want somebody to make the argument that this sort of thing is completely the fault of his bipolar. Because, you know, ALL bipolar people write things like this, right? I hope his mother recognizes what she let loose on the world.
Hard disagree. First of all, he is ALWAYS filthy and gross, whether he lives on the streets, in his own apartment, in an apartment with others, in the nursing home, etc. Secondly Lucas isn’t at all smart enough to even think of that, let alone able to actually commit to a scheme like that.

Lucas mentioned a while ago that he had an appointment in July to get new rx shoes and glasses, so he has them. That is what is delaying him from getting a job, you know?
How much you wanna bet Lucas does not get those shoes or glasses. He also doesn't want to work since he is a lazy, fat, autistic, lolcow. Wants everything handed to him. He probably really does need glasses, but he did not have them for a good 2 years, at least.

That "good word" are the tax incentives businesses receive for hiring retards. Good for Lucas, I guess, but I'll be shocked if he can keep a job especially once he realizes he loses 50%+ of his tugboat while working.

God I hope he gets a job and it’s something like scrubbing toilets or mopping floors or shoveling shit. I want him to fail at the most menial, brain dead work in the world.
Why does he need another person to help him fill out Indeed apps? He could do that on his damn phone or go to the library or somewhere with free WiFi! Next he will need someone to go to work with him and cheer him on. Learned helplessness.
The first hurdle to a job is his hygiene. Due to the sweet tax incentives,employers will put up with a lot but nobody will tolerate working next to a guy who smells like ass, unwashed laundry and dick cheese.
He'll be looking for a part-time job that will not mess his free tugboat.

From what I have read, any income over $65 a month will start to reduce the tugboat. Unless he plans on working like 5 hours a month? Not sure it would be worth it to an employer to have someone for only 5 hours a month, unless it was some temp event job.
I guess $60 a month to someone like Lucas would be significant. He is totally working with some social services agency that helps the exceptional. The cow can't do anything for himself. Has to have someone do everything every step of the way.
Again with the resume! What job that he has any legitimate shot at getting will need a resume? Jobs that hire speds do not need resumes. They work directly with the social services agency for that tax deduction and know they are getting an exceptional individual.
I still think this job search thing is all just smoke and mirrors to try and make himself look good.

This is one of the levels of supported employment, whatever agency the "employment guy" works for has relationships with various employers in the area and pretty much can put Lucas in contact with people who will seriously consider hiring him as he is. Basically, this "employment guy" acts as a liaison for Lucas who can explain the details of Lucas' situation and abilities to his prospective employers and if he is hired, he can be a point of contact if and when Lucas has trouble adjusting.
This is the kind of support you might see for a someone with schizophrenia who is otherwise fairly capable, but their illness can make a working environment a potential powder keg without some kind of help. The "employment guy" is basically there to hold Lucas' hand through the process of hiring: the creation of a resume, whom to apply to, how to navigate the interview, and everything that comes after in regards to adjusting to the job. So if co-workers of Lucas start complaining about his hygiene, his supervisor has the option to contact this "employment guy" and enlist his help is broaching the subject with Lucas in a way that won't set him off.
This is exactly the kind of assistance he needs, but since it requires him to be the one pursuing all of this, it will ultimately be up to him if it is successful in the long term. If he doesn't show up to appointments or returning the "employment guy's" phone calls, then the entire process halts. He isn't getting an assigned job, he actually has to apply and interview like everyone else, and the nature of the work will be exactly what you expect it would be if they hire Lucas (unskilled labor), and Lucas would have to put in some serious effort on his part to consistently contribute to the workplace environment and curb his impulsive and narcissistic behavior.
I'll be genuinely surprised in Lucas makes it to the interview process and I'd love to be in the room when this guy has to help Lucas create a resume.
I love how he always uses shit like “hey it’s something after 20 years of unemployment” “hey come on I may weigh 400 pounds now but I LOST 200 pounds before!!” …Pucas you never should have been unemployed for 2 decades or weighed enough that you COULD lose 200 pounds…
I’m not a small woman by any means but if I lost 200 pounds I would CEASE TO EXIST. It’s not impressive that you’re considering maybe looking at a job posting on Indeed, Lucas. Or that you lost 200 pounds after YOU gained 200+ more pounds than your body needed by being a lazy, disgusting sack of shit. You are impressing exactly NO ONE by making progress, real or imagined, on scenarios that were 100% your own choice to begin with.
