I genuinely I think that these strange facial contortions, which Lucas seems unable to stop making, along with the strange falsetto voices he gets fixated on from time to time, are symptoms of his condition.

His "tics", if you will. I remember reading something about gritted teeth being a sign of periods of mania in bipolar conditions, I wonder if the strange voices and the bizarre rictus are as well.

It's assisted living or the streets again for him and, at the moment, he seem too terrified at the prospect of another bout of homelessness to fuck that up.

In 1 of his streams he said his base income is $814 a mo. He must be getting a $20 state supplement added to his $794 SSI. After Mallon Place gets paid it leaves him with $70. He has not said anything about paying for phone service so I'm wondering if he got a free gov't phone/service.

I’ve heard North Korea has a great volunteer system for their work camps. It’s really funny to me that the Communist country under Juche ideology is basically a monarchy with a royal family dynasty that has fully rehabilitated religion. It’s utterly absurd even the Soviets were hesitant about placing Kim Il Sung in charge since he lacked any proper understanding of Marxist theory. Apparently the Romanian dictator Ceaușescu was a big fan of Juche as well and gave himself a crown and a sceptre. Brezhnev must have decorated himself with at least a hundred different medals in pomp. You have to wonder how something professing to be emancipatory can become the opposite of itself the same way Marxists in China today are actively purged when they go to a factory and attempt to organize labour unions.

With The Wern Initiative he would no doubt live like a fat king with his sons next in line for the throne.

If Lucas does find a job, I doubt he realizes he would earn at best half of what others do taken out of his SSI. And I assume he'd lose his spot at Mallon Place. Good luck ever finding an apartment in Spokane.

All his "I'm working on getting a job" is probably bluster, but he's also never been in this position with no spending money to burn on massive meals, hotel stays, and poorly attempting to bribe Gen Z baes.

I literally can't fathom what kind of job Lucas could do, let alone what he would qualify for. He could theoretically be overnight security somewhere where he just has to exist and be a presence, but even that's a stretch due to his propensity to crash and go inactive for days at a time. Not to mention he could never get a security license with his record and background.

1 google search and his dirty laundry will show up. Any employer with brains will know Lucas is bad news/a liability.
 
Plenty of places are hiring desperately as most young adults don't want to work any minimum wage job for various reasons. If Lucas really wanted to, he could find a job even with his million red flags.

The only job lucas is qualified for is human test subject for experimental medical treatments

That said, speaking as someone who has a security license and does security work of that type, the scary part is those aren't as likely to disqualify him as you might think. They should be, but in practice they don't always do what they are supposed to do. For example i've been doing security work for nearly a year now and they have still not bothered to do my background check (and even sent me paperwork multiple times that was pre filled out and just needed my signature, all of which was filled out entirely incorrectly and in some cases nonsensically. Great example being how it listed my current address as being 'vancouver, newfoundland' despite the fact I haven't lived in vancouver in over 20 years and have never even set foot in newfoundland, there also is no vancouver in newfoundland) Keep in mind this is a company that not only provides security but also advertises doing background checks for other companies. I pointed this stuff out and have not heard a word about it since. There is also the fact that 'training' consisted of a week of pointless online courses and several days of a google hangouts course that just reiterated what the other course stuff said, and that had a final exam that the instructor literally gave out several of the answers to prior to the test. I've also heard from other guards that they have literally taken people aside who have failed said courses and given them the answers, to have them retake it and pass

So in short, there is no guarantee they would even do the background check on lucas and might even push him through training for the license course. The only thing that would likely hold him back would be the in person interview. He alternates between too timid and way too confrontational and spastic. He'd be recognized as someone who is a bad incident waiting to happen. I mean can you imagine how lucas would behave if somebody put him in a uniform and gave him authority over a place like a bus station? He'd be a walking stereotype of a mall cop wannabe cop and likely try to use that authority to creep on little girls. Hell just imagining what he'd be like in a place like that freaks me out
 
Just read up on the rules for people with SSI. Man, it almost isn't worth it if you want to keep your check. You still could come out ahead, but not by much. I wonder if Lucas knows the rules on this? No way he wants to lose his tugboat.
