The anime is the adaption of the visual novel, which to describe a visual novel, its like a point and click game, just with way more reading, because its basically a choose your own adventure book you sometimes interact with. Never played this one myself but i know of it.

Never played this one myself but i know of it.

I recommend it despite the fanservice. 'Tis the spooky season now, it's a perfect time. Just avoid Gou/Sotsu if you get into the series for the love of Oyashiro-sama.
