How can this dumb fuck review hundreds, if not thousands pieces of hardware and not feel that maybe the latest flagship MacBook is not really functioning as you'd expect it to be?
100 employees making this shit and the host (or anyone else) doesn't give the script a once-over to see that maybe the MacBook shouldn't be struggling with Cyberpunk or is lacking promised functionality? Insanity. It's been more than 2 years since the GN video and their promise to do better but it's totally unchanged.

I did think about just how tech-tarded his average staff member is, but I definitely feel like it went through at least 2 pairs of hands that should be somewhat tech-aware: whoever did the testing that handed off the stuff to the writer to write and Linus. The fact that he thought he could tell people that a 2000 dollar laptop can't run a 5 year old, (now) super optimized game well and get away with it is absurd, but I guess I shouldn't be that surprised considering his viewer base is now probably 75% indians.

Linus has resolved the issue with the M5 Macbook Pro review uploaded earlier in the week. Instead of reshooting the video with the laptop not in power saving mode and getting new benchmarks for Cyberpunk as well as everything else, he simply had an editor take the video down, crop out the gaming section and re-upload the video with no changes. Sweep the mistake under the rug! Surely the fact that the laptop was in power saver mode for the entire video wouldn't have impacted performance or opinions on it in other places too.

I game on my MacBook whenever I’m travelling, it’s fine. Performance is decent and unlike Windows laptops I can do it without needing ANC headset to block out the fan noise.

There is a gaming segment on Apple's pages, and there are some big games they put there. The benchmarks are very impressive, too, just don't actually read the footnotes for the settings they got these benchmarks on...

Yeah i've played 2077 on my M4 Max and it was pretty decent despite being used to the game as played on a 4090. It's not what they're meant for but it is nice you can do it.
