My take on the whole apology video
- The new CEO apology was very corpo style
- Everyone else besides him and Linus was good
- Linus apology was bad.
- Linus tried to take off his a lot of blame by pushing it into the community, drama people and others.
- Linus didn't spoke first because he knows that people has tiktok attention, so they will forget about him and not the CEO
- He blamed others like Colton
- He didn't directly apologize to anyone

Probably a larp, it isnt even really an accusation, hell if I was looking at an extra expense for my small business, I would try to monetize it as well.
Making a throw-away here as I do not want to get involved or flack since I still am in the tech industry.
I want to begin by saying that my direct dealings with Linus have always been fairly positive and never had a direct problem with him, but I vehemently trust the story of my colleagues' story.
Back when LTT was operating at the Langley house I was working with another tech industry representative who was talking with most of the workers at LTT including Luke. If you recall they used that house as their base of operations, including editing of course. As you can imagine when you have multiple people video editing in the same room it will get intensely warm, as such all of the employee's went to Linus and asked for an air conditioner. Figure at most $3-500 USD and maybe an extra $20-30 a month for additional electricity costs. Linus flipped out and got very angry especially at the additional monthly electricity bill increase. I'm sure this is what spawned the "whole room water-cooling" series since it was his attempt at cooling the room down while trying to make money off of it.
There are other anecdotal stories about him being insanely aggressive and obnoxious to his team during expo's and overseas trips, but my exact recollection of the story is fuzzy so I won't get into that particularly.
I'm glad people are coming out about how much of an asshole he is to his employee's. As someone who treats their employee's very well it made me upset hearing about that story back then and it still does now. Their handling of this entire situation is hilarious to me but well deserved and a long time coming.

It happened to that selfie stick phone case too. Many cheap garbage crowdfunding sensations gets copied immediately in China and then put up for sale. Gotta love the brutality of "le free market" sometimes.

I think it's the typical "Pretend that business is as usual so they don't notice that we shat our pants here" move, and of course it doesn't work and just makes them look even worse, because their actions clearly convey the opposite.
GN made a fairly polite video without personal attacks that could've been taken as constructive criticism, if Linus wasn't so prideful and narcissistic. But you can tell the longer this goes on, the worse it gets, and more personal he takes this. He probably sees it as a blatant attack now, even though it only got this bad because of his own errors and then refusal to take responsibility for them.
GN just has to sit back now and enjoy the harvest. This is a total corn moment.

In an earlier comment here someone posted an image of an email between LTT and Billet where they mention that they had agreed to let them keep it thinking it would be used in future builds. That's enough to get them off on any theft charge even if Billet changed their mind later so that aspect isn't really worth pursuing. Billet is getting a ton of positive attention from this fiasco.
