Linus deserves to get shit on, but he also needs to actually hold some of these fags' feet to the fire. They can mock him and make fun of him on camera all they want, as long as they make good shit. But now you have these product engineers, one some swede or german who Linus AMD upgraded his D&D table at his home, making shit designs and also making fun of the boss, that can't stand. Even worse if the engineers did it right, but then the Chynesium factory changed the shit and no one checked it.

I will unlock a new evolution of :story: if it turns out all the roaches and jeets he's been hiring, like that Ali G wannabe fag who bought the gold teef grill, are actually doing the indian "fake hustle" thing (it's not izzat or jugaad, there's another term) and completely fucked up what little reputation the leaf had.

Straining what is effectively glue with constant torque every time you use the screwdriver, it will fail eventually and become waste no matter how to spec it is. Wanna know something even dumber? In their latest refresh they kept the threaded part and they added a removable crossbar.

So failure went from maybe over time to will happen if you ever put any real force on the thing.

While i was on the LTT site I noticed something else...

Oh... oh no!

For people who don't know bearings can be made with different mateirals that gives them advantages and (disadvantages). The advantage of using the hybrid is getting the fidget toy long spinning due to reduced friction but you lose most of the shock resistnace of a traditonal steel one. The short explination is that Hybrid & Ceramic bearings aren't very resitant to shock due to using ceramic balls instead of steel and that ceramics are harder then steel.

So let say you drop this screwdriver on to a hard surface like a concrete floor the impact force will travel trough the endcap and hit the bearing. Beacuse the cermic balls have zero elasticity the shock could cause them to either crack or dent the steel raceway (english is fucking hard). Leading to a bearing that feels gritty and will eventualy gouge the raceway making the bearing either sieze or become loose.

So then when you spinn the endcap it would feel either feel it settle in to spots where the dents are or it would feel like sandpaper with the cracks scraping against the raceway.


Then I went on to the LTT reddit to confirm my suspicions and sure as fuck a ton of failed bearings. This time im not even gonna list them all cause there were so many who talked about replacing their screwdrivers due to malfunctioning bearings.

So in summary LTT chose a more expensive bearing to have something that will seperate them from the competion by having the endcap be long spinning. The hillarious consquense of this is that if you drop your screwdriver the bearing will fail.

The first one that ratchet was partially desinged by Alex until he felt it was too much according to the screwdriver video. This is a newer one that was designed to compete with Ifixit.
Both were mostly designed by their engineering manager, Kyle Tharatt a guy that has 10 years of engineering experience the majority of it att LTT.

My guess is that it's easier and cheaper to embed the magnet so the bit is magnetized, if you look at the last picture, you can see the silver magnet poking out of the thread.
But it's still a really bad design, because if they actually tested and QA'd it properly they would have seen the glaring issue, or maybe they saw it and decided it was an okay risk to take since simps will gobble it up, which knowing how entitled and narcissistic linus is, I can clearly see him telling the designer to go with this anyway to increase the profit margin.

So I just checked my itgmania. I believe there is auto sync by song on default (it'll set the delay based on average Delta every 24 notes if it is consistent enough). I've never had to manually adjust delay and I have s ranks on most of the songs I regularly play. S rank is 89%+ (how many perfect notes you get matters a lot). I tried turning on sync and the delay was pretty similar to what was already set on each song.

It's very likely the hosts just suck and thought it wasn't registering when they were missing notes.

and basically just complains that linux isn't problem free and that it went better than last time they tried. They're also going to continue to use linux on some of their PCs. So there might be a part 3. Linus was also complaining that people were calling him out for using pop_os again.

The gall to get angry that people were telling you PopOS was a bad idea just to then exactly describe why people no longer recommend PopOS was hilarious. Yes Linus, keep using chatgpt or slop articles written with it, with its years out of date information and inability to sort new information from old to pick a linux distro instead of actual users of Linux, it works so well.

Linus' complaint about PopOS not being labelled as a beta is fair enough. But then later on he complains about Bazzite HTPC Nvidia version not working despite being marked as beta with a clear warning there's known issues. See Xeet below.

He further goes on to say his expectation is beta software is stable because Gmail was marked as beta for years when it was in mainstream usage. The Bazzite developers have since put an even more explicit warning on the download because of Linus.

One bit I liked in the video was Luke talking about the tendency for Linux users to gloss over and lie about the shortcomings of Linux.

Extremely relevant when retards such as Linus hear that Linux "just works" for gaming and believe it. I think the simple fact is Linus doesn't want to read or learn about Linux. If Linus wants to use Linux further, it's probably best if he just waits for Steam Machine. It's going to be the most retard hardened way for him to game on Linux with its fixed hardware and immutable OS.

No, that guy was involved in the yt channel, some sort of handyman that presented videos and also had his own workshop to help developing gear for the videos, the guy designing the screwdrivers was someone in the warehouse where they ship all their merch, he was shown in several videos where linus basically went to him so he could show how hard he was working on the other screwdriver, before the great culling, he had more employees involved in the merch store than in the whole yt side, don't know how's it now, that's why they had the scandal of being severely overworked, since a single guy had to come up with like 2 or 3 video ideas per week and he didn't let them cook for a single more day to have a better video, since 500 dollars more was too much money or something, never got what he was trying to say with that.
