I remember buying Hero Siege for like a buck and being really dissapointed. It looks like Binding of Issac yet it's pretty much just a horde mode type of thing. The pixel art isn't terrible though.

I literally didn't even know about this game or the guy behind it until these people retweeted all of this guy's posts saying don't buy his game. I actually liked the game but the devs have no idea how to do beta testing or roll out patches. There were points in time where Hero Siege was getting 4-5 updates per day (most of which fixed shit they broke in the last patch 30 minutes earlier), and it wasn’t in EA. That shit is ridiculous and I can’t support that

I just got caught up in this thread and noticed some talk about UltraJman earlier and thought I could add some context to him being in the LParchive. He started out as a youtube LPer who was at the time a relatively """big""" name in the youtube LP community. This was around the time that Cloud8745 was also """big""" in that scene and got an RP video for Mario Galaxy (This video is not around anymore to my knowledge), which I believe had a part in his video calling out Slowbeef and Diabeetus for their shenanigans at the time. I don't think Jman had an RP on one of his videos but he thought he could be a voice for the people that did.
I'm not absolutely positive on the timeline here because didn't go to SA at that time but, sometime after the initial RP videos and before the Schildkrote Foundation he signed up for SA. Because he had a viewership on youtube who liked his videos he thought that would carry over to the goons but it appeared to be very divisive due to video quality, the stigma of being from youtube at that point, and him having miserable commentary. It also seems he became a little bit of a joke in the subforum but nowhere near the extent of others, like Somecoolguy. His Bonesaw thread was the only one that receieved general positive replies, with Gish and Mohawk Jack having people mostly dumping on him. Two gems from the Gish thread being Proteus himself
and Psych shitting on his videos
Around this time he got linked up with Schildkrote somehow, wish I could figure out how that could happen because goddamn that still doesn't make sense to me. He was in a Progress Quest video that Schildkrote made and then a couple streams on ustream/mogulus featuring Schildkrote as well. They did multiple videos on someone named Angiekirby, which may or may not have been an account they created to puppeteer content/drama from idiots in comments. This was relatively short lived though, and neither party made few if any mentions of each other after that point.
Jman went back to his youtube routine at that point to a fanbase that became a lot smaller due his whole involvement in the Schildkrote Foundation. Due to his friendship with Romscout at that time he managed to go to the first or second GDQ and embarrass himself and the audience. Then he continued to fade into irrelevance and making an ass out of himself on youtube.
I tried looking through the archives to find posts but could only look at the threads that were in the LParchive masterlist. Anyway thought I would chime in with those tidbits, don't really feel he was much of a match for this thread particularly due to his extremely short involvement on SA.
Last bit I'll say in this, wish I knew what happened with Schildkrote because he seems to have just disappeared from the internet and he had some of the most entertaining videos, but maybe its better to be doomed to obscurity. Also Proteus had a video shitting on GravityPenguin way back that was just a goddamn goldmine of laughs that got lost with googlevideo being shutdown which was a real shame.

That's gold but it was a different one I was thinking, he had a webcam pointed at his bed pretty much and it looked like there was a thong on there that you and someone kept commenting on for nearly 30 minutes trying to figure out why he would do that. Turned out to be a Texas Longhorn pillow he had. Anyway I don't want to try and derail this further.

People who play video games for a living are immature and generally don't know shit about the world around them? Color me surprised.
I will cop to having liked retsupurae (making fun of spergs is always good, and they were good at it), but I think the SA LPer clique needs to grow up already. Pushing 35 and having done nothing but talk over vidya is kinda sad, not to mention financially untenable. Hopefully Chip frees himself from Attack of the 50 ft Girlfriend and finds fulfillment elsewhere.
