Just wondering what other kiwis are giving up (or taking on) for Lent this year.
For instance this year Im going vegan and straight-edge (no coffee, alcohol or weed), and fasting until noon.

What are you doing for lent this year?

Vegan and straight-edge? That's Orthodox-grade Lent.

I assume you know to significantly increase your prayer and observance of the sacraments when performing ascetic practices like this, but for other people who might want to consider it, this is crucial information they need to know.

For every single person who gives up pissing I am going to piss an extra pissjar for them and leave it on their doorstep

Maybe a weird answer but I've been wanting to cut down on the straight-up garbage content that I'll put in on the background just for noises sake, I have a habit of throwing on those videos that are just aggregates of reddit stories and occasionally those stories get really depressing depending on the prompt. It would be better to just have on music or language learning content or something that isn't just completly moronic.

Última edición:
I'm giving up booze and fast food.
My priest brought up the idea of rereading the four gospels during Lent, and while I already read pretty often I like that idea for the season.
I hate this time of year because everything that comes of fast food fryers has a hint of fishy aftertaste.
The Kroger has started rolling out the fish sandwiches, they are the most disgusting fish sandwich I've ever tried.
