Leftys who later became righties what made you switch

Economic reality, around the time of brexit I wanted to understand which side was right.

Thomas Sowell has a good quote: "The first lesson of economics is scarcity: There is never enough of anything to satisfy all those who want it. The first lesson of politics is to disregard the first lesson of economics."

Being told that Muzzie refugees were going to be the ones to create real communism when all they did was draw welfare, commit crime, and praise the people who did the Charlie Hebdo and Paris attacks. I was told Charlie Hebdo was a fascist outlet and was asking for it. To which I say "lol, if that's fascist, then maybe the fascists had a point" and started doing my own research.

It was gradual. Started doubting the cause when every major leftist became obsessed with being PC and supporting woke capitalism. I started to favor more of a "dirtbag left" viewpoint. This was around 2016.

Then two things really made it impossible to reconcile what I thought with what I knew/saw: hitting peak trans and watching the Summer of Love play out. Learning that there is no statistical basis for the arguments of BLM and that MtF troons have this ugly tendency to be dangerous predators. Seeing these two core, unquestionable tenants of the narrative shatter really broke me out of it.

I resisted identifying as right wing for a few more years. While I'd still say I'm reluctantly right wing, I have learned more about right wing ideology. I began reading Yarvin and getting into NRx thought. I now join the proud and lengthy tradition of very left wing people who become horrified by the left and then jumped over to the right, like George Orwell, James Burnham, Nick Land and the Trots who came before me.

I'm exactly where I've always been, the left left me.

The DNC fucking Bernie over, and giving debate questions ahead of time to their favorite. When they were confronted, they said they didn't owe anyone honesty, fairness or truth. Not that i loved Bernie as much as I was shocked by their flippancy and disrespect.
