Anyone else notice that leftists have this weird obsession/hateboner for the 1950’s? I remember this other meme that has a picture of a 50’s family captioned with stuff like “he’s molesting his niece”, “he’s gay”, “she’s cheating on her husband”. Personally I think the obsession started because the 50’s were when leftist boomer academics were getting their heads shoved in lockers.

The best heuristic to determine the direction of the left is "would this piss off a father in the 1950's?" It's less about getting shoved into lockers, but having the contradiction of growing up in a society of plenty with the early onset of modern consumerism, yet having a father who only knew austerity and war, neurotic his son's won't be ready to take on the Soviets in apocalyptic nuclear warfare. Those leftist boomers became the mentors of all leftist today, and it shows. It's infuriating because the people they direct their energy against check out decades ago and are mostly now dead, all the while society's gears gradually coming off, and all our thought leaders can do is scream "FUCK YOU DAD!" at corpses of people who aren't even their own fathers.
