Well, go get your car mechanic certs and don't borher renewing em hoping to move up from Chonda lube tech to Mercedes diag tech....
The point of the thread was meant for
IT certifications. But I guess I didn't make it clear and thats on me, despite posting in Internet & Technology topic. But I get it, cars now have lots of technology in them. The one thing though with mechanic position is you legally cannot be paid Overtime if you work for a dealership, and your boss can keep you at work
indefinitely if they wanted to, and looking at rates it seems to a dollar less then what I what I could be potentially making now doing hard labor ($25/h).

For everyone else not familiar: I started with
Comptia. With the 3 core certificates this can get you out of minimum wage hell and somewhere between $12-$16/h.
Telecom focused:
Calix certs are
very expensive and Niche and I do not recommend these unless you work for a telecom employer that uses them. Not that my employer cared I had them I really did not see any bump in pay. IMO Telecom work sucks because that industry is corrupt as hell, you are not permitted to say 'no', and typically their customers are the whiniest little bitches that WILL keep you on the phone for HOURS. The more rare and nastier type of customer in that space
will put you in the hospital. Stay out of telecom if you can unless its the only gig in town, and do not stay longer then 6 months to a year unless you like being abused by sociopaths. Its not worth your mental/physiological health and faith in humanity.
