The shot of 1960s era Piccadilly Circus in all of its neon/analogue glory (as opposed to the boring LCD screens they have now) was impressive. I wasn't really into Baby Driver, I prefer Edgar Wright's earlier comedies, but I'll probably still see this one assuming there's not another lockdown in Ontario this autumn.

took me a bit to finally get to watching this one..holy shit. 'Journey' is a great word to describe the movie. An actual story with the horror element being an addition to the story vs trying to go for scares.

The vibe flipping between modern day and the 1960s is so well done and makes you crave it. Once the movie finishes I utimately wanted more. Very rare for a movie to make you want an extra hour of what they already have given you. It's not the plot wasn't complete or a full story wasn't told...but the scene introduction with the plot elements evolving..god damn. Fantastic film that is both nostalgic and gripping. I've enjoyed Anya Taylor (1960s girl) and she absolutely kills as the 'up and coming starlet'. Watching her struggle juxtaposed with the modern fashion designer student's life struggle is really interesting.

To me it's not just the plot that speaks but it's a commentary on life of a woman wanting to make it in showbiz next to the struggle a student faces when going off to school in a big city. Similar but different and how they intertwine in this film is awesome. It works as a period piece but that period very clearly mirrors current 'entertainment' industry standards full of sexual favors to get ahead. The modern era of the movie has it's own part to play that makes you wondering what's going to happen next.

The movie was fine. The visuals were neat and the 60s vibe was interesting but the twists were completely predictable and sometimes pointless. Also, I'm supposed to sympathize with the murderer?
