Laserdisc Mega Thread

I have a ton of laserdiscs but sadly no player at the moment.

My player broke down about a decade ago and I can't afford a new one.

You may find a good deal on facebook marketplace. if you see big prices dont be scared as they probably have been listed for months and haggling them down to 1/4 of the price will likely suffice.
Also when looking through different shows I found out hideaki anno's anime he made after evangelion, kare kano was put onto laserdisc with full size art covers with a clv encoding. Theres gotta be some way to put subtitles on the screen by intercepting the signal but I havent figured that out yet.


I also got really inspired by kenny lauderdale's videos about archiving media so I decided to vaguely peruse japanese auctions for something I couldnt find anything about. Thats when I came across this. This is known as Utsurun Desu.


despite having a very artistic cover and even from the listing it seems to come with art panels inside. It has a listing on lddb and a poor quality capture on nicovideo

but other than that this has no anidb page and no myanimelist page. it does have a sequel in 2009 but even that has little to no info on both its myanimelist and anidb page...not even a review. But apparently this is some very popular character to the point the otter looking dude was featured in an earthquake relief effort psa.
