They should be limited to integer/nearest neighbor anyway, then there is no debate about bluring, interpolating, or ai, just show the pixels that the camera captured and leave it at that, bonus that it will show the context of how severely it's being zoomed which is more truthful

If they're going to be blowing up photos for this type of thing even if it's nearest neighbor I would demand it be done with a RAW format still. Anything else has already gone through compression which smudges and alters the image, magnifying and zooming and low light all compound how bad those issues become. Don't have the RAW then fuck of prosecution.
