Anecdotally, I am one of the people who escaped that. A really bad porn addiction and surrounding myself with "pink pillers" and "egg crackers" without knowing almost got me started on the troon path. Thankfully therapy and me figuring out what was going on got me out of that. Absolutely ended up screwing up my social life to a degree that I'm still trying to catch up a decade later. These people are fucked up and living on the internet and discord is making it worse.
