Haven't had chance to pick it up yet, but it looks like a lot of fun. Kind of like Fall Guys meets Goron Racing from Majora's Mask.

I’ve been playing it a decent amount, great game. It handles the multiplayer competitive free-for-all format better than Kirby Battle Royale on 3DS, though I still need to get used to the physics. There have been multiple occasions where I’m seconds away from the end and someone behind me somehow manages to move faster and get the biggest cake by a few frames. Do you move faster when you’re smaller or something?

If I was to hazard a guess. AI pretending to be real people rubber banding. After what they did with that maro kart mobile game. I wouldn't doubt they pull shit like that with non mobile games and use real usernames on AI racers.

But most of them are Kirby-themed, so not like it's pretending to be "DudeGuyReal5555555" or anything. I particularly like "KingWaDeDe" and "EasyBreezy".

Can confirm I played against some of these names last night... That's really scummy. When I pick Online Mode I expect to be competing against other players, not an AI.
