Superchats might be the most profitable way to make money online outside of a Patreon, but at least the old tipjars and the like didn't publicly shackle you to a man who'd be a spider if he could just leave his room to find a little crack to climb in.

I think I said this in this thread or somewhere else - but if you're going to spend big bucks on a streamer you may as well fucking invest in them so you get some kind of a return or something out of it. I will contest your point that all of them are degenerates, it is only the ones that do it repeatedly for attention/asspats and try to form parasocial relationships. There are high (and even lower) earning people who will tip larger amounts to content creators that they like and be done with it - it is kind of essential so that things can keep running. It is just unfortunate that the format of livestreaming in particular with chats and that kind of shit is geared for immediate engagement/positive reinforcement and it is little wonder that it has become a breeding ground for parasocial relationships.

But all tips/subs etc are obviously super impulsive purchases that have no long term thought applied to them. It's also why it can be risky for streamers to depend on them, because if they do something "wrong" all of that support can dry up instantly.
Like Sam Hyde/Jet Neptune's "fishtank" project, they launched an investment round for it because relying on paypigs isn't really viable at scale or long term - you need advertisers and shit like that. It's the same reason why someone like Joe Rogan can get huge deals or Kill Tony can get huge deals. The KC guys should realize at some stage that people like their show a lot (that's what I can see from what most people post) and try to make it a product and get partnerships and deals going, otherwise they will always be beholden to paypigs and all the negative shit that comes from it.

The real "smart" people in the streaming/e-fame game are people like Amouranth (yeah, I'm calling her intelligent). She is someone that realized that e-fame is finite and as Metokur once called it "a fickle thing" and has been investing in things like gas stations and other companies. Of course she is basically an internet whore (that does softcore porn) but she knows she is already in her 30s now and has been making what look like sensible investments along the way - but of course she has generated many millions of dollars from simps (apparently $33 million USD from OnlyFans alone) which makes doing some sound investments very easy.

I don't know enough about the Kino Casino guys to know if they invest in stuff and are as smart as Amouranth or keep a good amount of financial runway to ride shockwaves like whatever this current shit show is (assuming it is actually impacting their bottom line) but I can recall other similar streams like Kinochet (I think it was called?), The Morning Kumite, The Killstream and tons of others that were "here today, gone tomorrow" or only "exist" by the narrowest definition of the term.

It makes posters like me, who genuinely try to be positive about the show, want to distance themselves from it as quickly as possible. Whether the sweeping was directed or was just a product of people wanting to defend a show is irrelevant at this point; no one wants to be part of something where you can't even levee a good faith criticism against it. There are plenty of things that could be better about the show and handwaving it all away with memes has become the new Modus Operandi. Frankly it's worn out it's welcome quickly, the joke is stale. The MM stuff is a no-win situation for the Casino and they could've handled it much better.

tl;dr: It's possible to both be disappointed and still support a show without blindly sweeping.
