The Trappped documentary is interesting because Josh is an interesting person. There are challenges in his life he struggles to overcome, he has friendships and work relationships with odd people that make his life interesting. He’s still lucid to some degree and there’s some energy to him, some enthusiasm for life. There’s an attitude of optimism to Josh that seems very genuine.
Any other documentary fails because that Josh is dead. There’s no story to tell with him, he has no interactions with other people and he has no life to explore. He doesn’t do anything but sit in a chair and get drunk. Try making a documentary that consists of 2 hours of a drunk guy who rambles about the same thing over and over, interacts with nobody, doesn’t give a shit about anything and never leaves the house.
It is what it is, dood. Buy a shirt.
