Cobes in full blown DTs would make for compelling viewing, wouldn't it? It almost feels like that's where he's headed eventually.

Alcoholics eventually reach a point where they have to take a drink every 2 or 3 hours, lest they go into withdrawal. Potentially fatal. I enjoy speculating about Cobes' level of physical dependency. He drinks daily, sometimes all day long, and has admitted to keeping a bottle by his bed on occasion. Yet his tolerance remains shockingly low. It's not clear to me what stage of his alcoholic journey he is currently enjoying, but I would not be surprised if abstaining from booze is physically miserable for him.

SOmeone (can't recall if it was here, Reddit, or a Snakebones stream) mentioned that if he's drinking 24/7 but his tolerance is still so low, it's actually the signs his alcoholism has progressed drastically enough to have done serious liver damage;

Reverse Tolerance occurs when a heavy drinker develops liver damage and the liver no longer produces as great a quantity of the enzymes needed to break down alcohol in the body as it did before. Since people with a lot of alcoholic liver damage can no longer metabolize alcohol very well, these people can get very intoxicated on small quantities of alcohol--much smaller quantities than are needed to affect the person who rarely drinks. This phenomenon is known as Reverse Tolerance.

I don’t know if it would stop him. I know he’s stopped drinking for a day and was all fucked up for least one stream. I think he would step-up the ebegging. But you never know with him, he’s not exactly known for his work ethic. It’d be interesting but a even darker turn of content, which is pretty fucking hard at this point.

TBH I also don't think he would ever suffer from withdrawals if he quit drinking cold turkey currently. I've known real deal withdrawal-worthy alcoholics, and josh is still playing in the sandbox, even with his daily drinking. He would be in a severe shitty attitude for maybe a week before he leveled off

Agreed. I was one of those for a while. I couldn't even get sleep because I would wake up shaking and barely able to balance myself. I needed to drink hard liquor every few hours. Would go through a handle and then some every day. Seizures if I stopped for a day. Only could stop with medical observation.

Josh isn't close to that level but he is definitely dependent. When he has gone more than a day you can see he's shakey. He has said how he feels like shit...until he finally gets a drink. He hasn't equated this to dependency and instead thinks the booze is like medicine for him.

Maybe his hatred for the taste of booze will stop him from turning into a real alchy who drinks the cheapest vodka available and is waiting outside the liquor store in the morning waiting for it to open. But...even people who have drank like him longterm can get get the point of withdrawal being deadly. We'll see, but this constant supply of money isn't helping him.

I’m wondering if a fan sent him Kratom again. Often gives that zoom-y euphoria he’s displaying, and he’s more open to it since it’s an all-natural, legally ambiguous fringe drug.

I can't tell from the camera angle, is he sitting in the lazy boy chair ? He just spilled almost half of that CBD drink all over his lap and presumably into the seat too. I imagine that chair has absorbed a lot of fluids over the years (bodily and otherwise) :cryblood: :cryblood:

He's done it several times on stream. He'll say he's pouring one out to pay respects to whoever and then just dump some of whatever he's drinking on the chair.

He does that all the time for almost no reason. For his dead “homies”, the 9/11 victims (which truly makes him “sad”) and even just for shit and giggles.

Beer + old cum+ vomit+ cobra’s body odour + a poorly cooled apartment = one great smelling complex for his neighbors
