This is typical of Munchausen Syndrome. She is able to function on a daily basis and is non compliant with any mental health treatment. She is also fully aware she is lying, thus medication won’t help either. There really isn’t anything to be done.

I am reminded of one long article I read about a Munchausen by Proxy case where a mother was tried and arrested for abusing her daughter. Despite the fact she would remain in prison for the rest of her life, she would still fake afflictions for attention in prison. When visited by a family member, she had apparently learned sign language in order to pretend to be deaf, only for this charade to fail when the family member threatened to leave if she didn’t stop the act. Maybe someone knows the article I’m talking about.

Anyone who has been around an amputee knows how sensitive stumps can be. Rubbing fabric on the end can break open the delicate skin that covers the stump, especially when it's new-ish. Stump covers are important to use, you have to wrap them with ace bandage sometimes to keep friction down, and you have to keep them very very clean in the first few months.

Unless they tie her hands down and take care of her stumps in the hospital for the first several weeks, she's not going to heal.

She's gonna pick the skin off her stumps till the bone is exposed, then she's gonna start using a nail file on them or some shit.

A care facility wouldn’t provide for her anything she cannot do for herself. She can eat, sleep, go to the bathroom, etc. on her own. What she needs is intensive mental health treatment, which she won’t comply with, so it’s pointless to commit her. So as a pussy you may feel shocked from only the descriptions, and this cow has some of the most disgusting pictures I’ve seen on this site. But she’s been involuntarily commuted before, and the only thing it does is delay the inevitable return to abusing her body.

So yes, this is functioning for someone with something I would consider a terminal mental illness. And probably how the government is viewing it as well.
