So based on my knowledge (none) of how arrests work, it’s 7:30 PM on a Sunday. Central booking is typically closed at this point which means he’d have to spend the night in the tombs until he can be booked and processed in the morning.

The Tombs is slang for manhattan central booking jail. Chris lives in Virginia.

rewatching this again, does chris seem more.... coherent than he used to be? hes way calmer, even laughing a little, and the way he speaks and emotes is so.... normal. even when hes telling them the merge is happening, his tone is so bored and casual like hes informing him his favorite show coming up, and almost like he himself doesnt believe it. no fighting or biting like i expected. none of the usual iconic chris lunacy. not even his normal sleepy autism-voice. did this event shock his brain into working order? did he, as some kinda subconcious coping mechanism, shut off and allow for some kinda normie persona to take charge instead?

Chris is relatively fortunate to have been arrested in Henrico County rather than the City of Richmond, though the Henrico regional jail is no picnic either.
The county has the option to send him out there or keep him in the lockup at the sheriff's office temporarily. If he's just being charged with the rape in Greene County and bused back there tomorrow, then they may find it easier to avoid all the trans- and mental health- related special handling and just give him a private cell at the sheriff's HQ for one night.

I can't remember if it was Null but someone posted some car papers that showed it was in fact in Barb's name. This would mean that it would go back to her once she's done with all of this. Whether or not she can operate it or have it brought back home (if she's even fit to live alone?) would be up in the air though.

If it was in Chris's name and he did in fact get arrested and put in prison I don't know if the would impound it or see if any relatives/next of kin could take it off their hands.

So since it's in Barb's name, and she has no one to pick it up, The state will take it. If she manages to get someone to come pick it up, whether that be Chris or someone else, it would go back with her.
