There was also a petition for harsher punishment filed by the victim involved in one of the cases, which would normally shift sentencing for at least that particular one(don't know which case it was) to at least an aggravated sentence.

There's still also the possibility of sentencing being done concurrently so those "totals" may not amount to a total number of years served even if he's handed those sentences. The lesser charges can be done concurrently with whichever charge has the maximum. S getting 7 years for the deepfakes could mean the 5 years for obstruction of business charges are just done at the same time.

You misunderstand. He does not need to appear for the benefit of the trial. If he does not appear, he will be sentenced and thrown in contempt of court because he failed to appear and make everything worse for himself. He better show up for his own good.
