Could someone familiar with GSDs look at the recent pictures of Joe and his dogs and let me know what's going on? I can't tell if the older dog is scared and submissive, or if that's just what a good old boi looks like when he gets pets. Maybe the dog was stressed by something else and Joe was comforting it? The new environment and all the strangers coming and going might have been too much for them.
And the deal with him running out of the shower to grab the puppy's tail, I don't know about that. I've grabbed at a dog's tail, in a sort of playful "got your nose" way. But I've never grabbed at it with enough force that it pulled me down, or the dog turned and pushed me over. On the other hand, an excited Jack Russell could probably tip Joe over.
The White House just "not my jobbed" homeland security. A million Fox News contributors just orgasmed.

I'm not specifically familiar with German Shepherds but I've gone in pens with dogs that bite most people a lot. From what I've seen the dogs look unhappy and they don't like Joe's hand being so close to their head. The way the hold their heads low beneath his hand looks like stress. I've heard Shepherd breeds tend to love one person and one person only, and if that's the case with these two then Joe Biden is not their one person.

Women in front line combat roles, unless you live in on societies that are always on the brink of extinction and have developed a mentality that everyone needs to sacrifice themselves for their survival regardless of gender or age (Israel, Kurds, Soviet Union in WWII, etc.) is and always has been PR bullshit. Most of Europe with France being the only notable exception pretty much use their militaries as a ways to get optics. France is the only one that uses them to fight wars (guess which is the European county that doesn't allow women in the front lines.)
This is the same case with the US, who is now retreating from defending most of the world and focusing on protecting just a few key areas of the world where it has any reasonable interests. Most of these interests, however, are small time and can be outsourced more effectively to PMCs, who are composed almost entirely of, you guessed it, white male veterans who went into these companies for higher pay.
Even if you take away the inevitable loss of quality when it comes to women joining the military, once you engage into a real fight, it becomes a PR disaster. Most people who support this are the kind of people that think they're raising a generation of Black Widows to go out and kick ass. They'll be shocked once the news reports come in about young 20 year old Kelly Thompson coming back in a casket with her children crying on TV. Because that's what war is. Support for conflict would collapse in an instant. It was already bad when 19 year old corporal from Texas with his whole life ahead of him was cut down by an IED, now imagine how bad it will be when it's women.
