Jirard pulling the therapist card to try and get sympathy is a schtick we’re all familiar with at this point. However, it’s worth mentioning that he he was informed by Jacque that Karl had emailed Open Hand.

I mentioned this before but I really doubt that Jirard was as out of the loop about Open Hand’s practices as he claims to be (Jacque quickly informed him about the email with Karl after receiving it, so I’m sure he also looped him in on other happenings with Open Hand in the past).
Simon Strange was incredibly incompetent at running this project. There’s a longer podcast that delves into some of the happenings behind the scenes but he apparently ran through at least three dev teams (some were Pipeworks employees but most of them were freelancers) and funneled the campaign money into ventures like the trading card game and artwork for the monsters instead of the actual game itself.
The furries weren’t the nail in the coffin but a consequence of the poor sponsorship system. In addition to the two furries that got into the first game, the project promised to let fans get their monsters in future games, resulting in an influx of furries who wanted their fetish characters in (like this muscle fetishist with a mary sue that was the “God of Monsters” or a character that was a sentient parade float) and little kids who wanted to see their OCs in a video game.
(For reference, this is what that God of Monsters character looked like drawn by the original artist, who’s an obvious muscle fetishist, and here’s the redesign by Godzilla artist Matt Frank).
This kind of design by committee thing plagued the project and Simon was basically getting people with zero experience developing games to do research and development/bug finding .

Something tells me Jirard is bad at taking advice and doesn't handle stress well, and not just because he has a therapist and what-not; I doubt he's ever faced adversity of any kind, so when someone comes on a little strong, he panicks. Could see the feds showing up, he calls his lawyer, lawyer says something like "Don't say anything, I'll be right over." Feds look at something and ask about it, lawyer shows up to Jirard sobbing about his mom, how he's really sorry, and he doesn't want to go to prison.

I still can't believe that. Five. How the fuck do you make appointment time for all of them? And what do you need them for? I remember someone in the threads said like one is for his career, one is personal, one is for his relationship...what do you even use the extra for, second opinions? Are you taking fucking speech or physical therapy? I refuse to think he sees 5 of them within the same year. Maybe he saw five over a few years, but within a one year range abd still seeing them? It's funny how he tries to deny his involvement with the golf Tournaments. Even if Jirad wants to argue semantics about how its dad who hosts them. He still attended them so, you can't say you had "no involvement" when there are literal pictures. Overall, what a joke he is with how he tries to bribe them at every chance or downplay his actions.
