Jenna Marbles Quits Youtube - Gives up income for the dumbest reason ever

I don't think she's really scared. I think she's just done and out of ideas. She is rich from YT and all affiliated content, truly set for life. If Julien still has his channels going, they can probably even live off of that without touching her earnings.

But yeah, it's better for her to end this way than through a real cancel mob. She's sort of a manipulative genius to choose this moment of chaos and "reflective self-canceling" to do something that she's clearly been wanting to do for several years anyway, lol.

If this is truly the case, then more power to her.

She still openly admits that she's addicted to the Elder Scrolls. I hope she's playing that right now, not paying any sort of attention to any internet mob right now.

Go play your game and enjoy your life, Jenna. The internet is SO not worth it anymore.

Also, how stupid is the world right now where an e-celeb gets accused of doing black face 10 years ago when all she did was wear a wig and spray tan (as EVERYONE did back in the late 2000's-early 2010's) and feels forced to end her content, yet the governor of Virginia, who actually did black face and has a racist history gets to remain as governor like it's no biggie just because of his political affiliation?

Clown. World. I hate it, and I want the aliens to beam me up already.

I stopped watching her stuff long ago but I am genuinely disappointed to see this. Lost a lot of respect for her here. I'm sure all the butt pats she's getting will more than make up for that though.

Just so y'all know, THIS is the "blackface" that Jenna Marbles was accused of doing when she did the Nicki Minaj video. The top image is from her famous "How To Trick People Into Thinking You're Really Good Looking" video, and the bottom image is from her Nicki Minaj parody video.

I don't know about you all, but don't see a single difference with Jenna's complexion in these two videos. Fucking ridiculous!

And it's infuriating to hear Jenna herself apologize for it. In her video she released today, she literally pointed out how she looked when she took the wig off as well (I took that as her way of saying that her skin just looked like that normally because of how much she was into spray tanning at the time, as most women were back then, btw!). She pretty much made the point that she was NOT doing blackface, and yet she still apologized for it.

And as for the "shake your King Kong ding dong" lyric in the Bounce That Dick video ... Yeah, hello? Literally the lyric after that points out how racist the comment was! She was playing a character in the video, acting like a disgusting rap artist who objectifies women and says ridiculous lyrics like that because they lack creativity! That was the entire point of the video, which is why it was funny at the time!

I really, really do hope that she's quitting because she wants to and is just using this mess as her "out" and not because she's being bullied and gaslighted into submission. That would be so, so sad if the latter was actually true.

Popular vlogger Jenna Marbles is quitting her YouTube channel over past racist and slut-shaming videos.
The 33-year-old comedian, who has more than 20 million subscribers and has been making YouTube videos for more than 10 years, made the announcement in an emotional 11-minute clip.

She said she had made "almost all" of her old content private over the last few days because "I don't want someone to watch something and feel hurt or offended now for any reason, at all".
"I think I'm just going to move on from this channel, for now," she said.

"I don't know if that's forever. I don't know how long that's going to be... I want to make sure that the things that I've put into the world aren't hurting anyone.

"I'm ashamed of things I've said and done in my past."
Marbles, real name Jenna Mourey, referred to several videos, including one made in 2011 in which she appears to wear blackface to do a "cringey and embarrassing" impression of Nicki Minaj.

She explained: "It was not my intention to do blackface... but all that matters is that people were offended and it hurt them.
"This isn't okay, and it hasn't existed on the internet, because it isn't okay.
"I haven't done anything remotely like that, because I heard people say 'this is blackface' and 'I don't like that'."
She referred to another video, made in that same year, that included the words: "Hey, Ching Chong Wing Wong/... Sorry, that was racist/ I'm bad at rap songs."
Marbles apologised repeatedly for offending anyone with the videos, adding: "I shouldn't have said that. Ever. It's not cool. It's not cute. It's not okay."

The comedian, who was brought up in New York but now lives in Los Angeles, addressed a third video made in 2012, which she described as "one of the hardest years of my life".
She said she had "a lot of internalised misogyny" at the time, adding: "I made a video that came across unbelievably slut-shaming and I'm sorry.
"I ranted about girls who slept around and that's wrong. I just f***** up."
She said: "There's no-one demanding an apology of me for that video right now, but put it on my tab."
Marbles broke down in tears during the announcement, and said it would be her last video on the channel, "for some time, possibly forever".

"I want to make sure the things I put out into the world are not hurting anyone," she said.
Marbles rose to fame for her 2010 video titled How To Trick People Into Thinking You're Good Looking, which has had more than 69 million views to date.
She is also the first social media star to have a wax figure displayed at Madame Tussauds in New York City.

I like Jenna. I have been subscribed ever since her How to trick people into thinking you are good looking, even tho some of her videos were lacking.
Sure her recent videos were mostly about her dogs, but I remember laughing uncontrollably to her Jeans chair video, or her soap hand video, or videos where she glues dumb shit on her face, like making her head a disco ball, or gluing 1000 fake crystals.
I don't think it's right that she bent the knee to the mob, but I think some people are just more emotional and break easier than others.

She out of all people did not deserve to be bullied by the mob to leave youtube in such a pathetic sloppy way.
I wish her good luck and hope she lives her life away from social media, playing elder scrolls.

It's not really a net loss. From what little I've seen of her recent videos, she's spiraled firmly into "I've moved into an expensive house in the valley and lost all touch with normal reality" land.
