oh man this guy is so unusual. i saw him posting online a lot, and like others in the thread, i thought he was playing a character, but the more of his posts i read the more it dawned on me that this dude is like mentally unwell. i feel like his marriage is going to end disastrously for sure when the reality of his employment situation dawns on his wife. poor girl, that'll be rough for her.

Isn't he in China? From what I've seen and heard from filthy gwailo who chase the slanted clam, this is totally normal behavior over there. If anything James is more competent and personable than the average Chinese guy.
Arranged marriages are totally normal in non-European countries, especially in Asia. Chinese guys routinely save up the local equivalent of a couple thousand dollars and go to like rural Vietnam to buy a wife.
It's still weird, but it's more the product of their culture being odd than him being an exceptional example of his culture.

He’s definitely for real, I followed him for years on vine and have been keeping up with him on Twitter for a while now too and he’s never wavered in his eccentricities
He’s always been a favorite internet weirdo of mine. On his vine account, he was well known for his repeating “very cool, very swag, I like it!” (Which he still parrots today) and I used to think it was a sorta-charming language barrier thing that he latched onto as a catch phrase. The longer I’ve followed him though, the more I’ve come to wonder if it’s an autistic repetition sort of thing. Not sure, I digress
He’s a very interesting guy who isn’t particularly good at anything, loves to oversharee online, and does not react well to trolling. Hell, I went to his Twitter to find something and this was one of his most recent tweets.
Relating back to the comments about beating his gay kid, One time he tweeted about eating watermelon as reward, and maxmoefoe said something about putting the seeds in his urethra. Since then, I’ll see references to watermelon seeds in troll comments under nearly every tweet.
He is an absolute goldmine and I’m shocked that there wasn’t a more active thread on him. OP looks great

Hits close to home. Very depressing, not swag. Doesn't help that he has such a fatalist outlook on life. Though, I guess most kids would have under that kind of parenting in a high power distance culture like China.

Part of me wonders if that's because it's an Arranged Marriage, he might have met her several times before they hitched but she's still a bit alien to him so he doesn't feel comfortable.
I know that's a bit optimistic but it's a reasonable possibility.
