James Damore suing google for white male discrimination

I only call it a hissyfit because in a corporate environment you don’t send off an email to the whole company saying how much they suck. This is seen as malicious with the intent of disrupting work. Regardless of political climate of the company, you just don’t do that. I don’t know if he thought he was going to be an autistic jerry macguire but even tom cruise had to start over again after trying to overturn the applecart.

I thought that his dumb memo or whatever was blasted by a co-worker and not him? Or am I wrong on this?

I don't think that's how it went down.

As I understand it, he was talking with a small group of people in some internal google mailing list, of which there are many. Like I'm sure there's an internal building-kin group in google, for google employees who identify sexually as skyscrapers. Someone took the message and forwarded it to everyone else.

It's fair conversation, and it's not like google's firing people over the building-kin people.

And unlike the building-kin stuff, his commentary is legally protected because he's discussing google's failings in discrimination law.

Supposedly, they were actually encouraged to share views with others. And not warned that only certain views were acceptable.

I hate to necro an old thread but he tweeted this today:

James Damore is, to me anyways, inextricably linked to Joe Rogan's podcast as a signal booster. It's hard to believe he was on that episode in 2017, Rogan did the 250 million dollar Spotify deal in 2020, and had Trump on in 2024. So much has changed in 30 years... *cigarette drag*
