Jailed Harvey Weinstein Tests Positive for Coronavirus: Report - Karma is a bitch

Disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein has tested positive for the coronavirus while in prison for rape and sexual assault, a local newspaper reported.

Weinstein, 68, is now in isolation at Wende Correctional Facility in western New York, state prison officials told CNHI newspapers on Sunday.

He was sentenced earlier this month to 23 years in prison for sexually assaulting former Project Runway production assistant Miriam Haleyi and raping former actress Jessica Mann.

Weinstein is one of two inmates in the maximum-security prison in Erie County who have tested positive, the officials said. A New York State Department of Corrections spokesperson confirmed to The Daily Beast two inmates at Wende Correctional Facility have contracted COVID-19 but did not name the two individuals.

Juda Engelmayer, Weinstein’s spokesperson, told The Daily Beast on Sunday that “our team... has not heard anything like that yet.” Engelmayer also could not confirm if the Pulp Fiction producer was currently in isolation.

Throughout his four-week trial in Manhattan, prosecutors argued Weinstein abused his power in the entertainment industry and preyed on dozens of women for more than three decades with the promise to kickstart their careers in exchange for sex acts.

Jurors heard from six of Weinstein’s accusers during the trial—with most of them claiming the Oscar-winner lured them into isolated places to discuss their futures in the entertainment industry before sexually assaulting them.

He was convicted in February of two counts against him, but cleared of first-degree rape and the most serious charge against him, predatory sexual assault—which carried a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Immediately after the verdict, he was transported to New York’s Bellevue Hospital instead of the Rikers Island jail complex after experiencing high blood pressure and heart palpitations.

Before his March 11 sentencing, the 68-year-old—who had a failed back surgery just before his trial—had a stent placed for a blockage.

Hours after he learned his fate, Weinstein was again brought to the hospital instead of prison with chest pain complaints. He eventually ended up at Rikers, where 21 inmates have tested positive for COVID-19, before being transferred to the intake center at Wende on Wednesday.

The movie mogul was set to remain at Wende for up to eight weeks as officials determined which long-term prison meets his “security, medical, mental health and other needs,” according to general prison guidelines.

@DocHoliday1977 some good news for you! Now, even more reason to keep him away from the general population.

I really really really really hate to bring this up. If even Weinstein can get coronavirus that's very very bad news for the US prison system. Just awful. If he got it through any vectors common to the rest of the inmates then things aren't going to progress well.

It should wipe out the kiddie diddlers and death row inmates tbh. Save some people tax dollars that way.

Don't forget all the hardened gang leaders who thrive in prison and control most of the violent organized crime in this country......

Captain Corona is going to get them too,

I'll admit, I do feel bad for the non-violent or truly repentant people who are incarcerated during this pandemic, they're at risk for the same disease that scumbags like Harvey Weinstein and Levi Simmons or racist crime gangs like the Black Guerilla Family and Aryan Brotherhood will get.

COVID-19 is one of those black swan events.

And black swan events don't give a flying fuck about morality, feelings, social status, or identity. Everyone feels the after-effects when they happen.

Última edición:
Oh he'll die, if not from Corona-chan, it'll be something else. He's in his late 60s after all.

And he's a high-profile serial rapist in a maximum security prison too.

The only thing more deadly than that is being a child molester in a maximum security prison.

Expect him to get the same treatment Dahmer and Epstein did if he survives the virus.

Dahmer is in Israel? :informative:

No, but he got murdered in prison by an inmate who was disgusted at his crimes,

Epstein didn't kill himself, but there's a lot of people who could have.

Aside from the big names like the Clintons, the House of Windsor, or your Hollywood and Wall Street degenerate big shots he had dirt on, there's also the possibility he was murdered by the guards or one of the inmates bribed one of the guards to look the other way.

Rapists and child molesters are hated by prisoners and guards with equal fervor.

I honestly think the idea that he faked his death and is hiding in Israel is too ridiculous. Now, I could believe the Mossad or the CIA could've had him killed to silence him.

I look at Harvey and I see a missed opportunity. He's the symptom, not the disease. His punishment is a modern day incarnation of pagan scapegoat rituals. Hollywood's collective guilt has been transferred to him and the tacit understanding we all have with regards to the inherent degeneracy of our media system has been neatly repackaged & laid upon his doorstep.

Destroying him is an act of retribution as much as it is a permission for society at large to continue ignoring the system that allowed him to flourish. There will always be more Harveys, largely because of how the catharsis of punishing them enables us to overlook the conditions that made them. It's easier to just hate one dude and call it a day.
That is an apt description of the entirety of human history.

Yeah, I wonder who the new Weinstein is? The casting couch will go on, there are hundreds of thousands willing to do anything to "make it big", that sheer numbers alone say some are whoring their way in.
