i remember when i was a retarded kid, me and my other retarded kid friends would watch this in secret since our moms hated it. we always though it was the funniest stuff we had ever seen. luckily we werent retarded enough to try an emulate it, but we did love this show.

A lot of these stunts seem really dangerous. Someone could get seriously hurt, and, God forbid that some children see any of this and attempt it at home! How could this country have ever let this happen.

I always imagined the network censors going "Poo cocktail?! That's disgusting! ...but I kinda wanna see it."
 
I don't know if they hold up but the Jackass Box Set dvd collection had some really good commentary tracks. It was mostly all of the group in a recording booth drinking and talking about a bunch of behind the scenes stuff and shooting the shit. There was also some extras on there that were good too like I think Steve-O, Pontius and Knoxville doing the Gumball 3000.
 
MadTV parodied Jackass several times, Kenny Roger's Jackass and Oprah's Jackass being examples. Steve-O told a story that he was binge drinking the night before as usual and when they were filming Kenny Roger's Jackass the next day he felt sick as the day progressed and he checked out near the end.
