Generally, yes. I tried D&D once, but couldn't see the appeal. The only fantasy universe I have any interest in is Lord of the Rings, but I agree with Tolkien's general assessment that being interested in the world is one thing. It's another to roleplay within that world and even dress like you live there.

Definitely. But most hobbies are. Some people like to roleplay, others, like me, find enjoyment in shitposting on internet forums. You'd be right to judge us - but at least we're not at bad as the retards who are into Magic cards or the autists who collect Lego sets. Those freaks are irredeemable.

Doing it in real life with people you know (or as a way of keeping in touch), probably not. Discord games and the like, yes.

Also I got recommended DnD horror stories, and it seems like a lot of the characters are autistic or troons and it would be hard to find a normalish group to play with if someone wanted to try.
