Is my long term memory horrible or is this normal?

I find myself going back to movies, shows or even youtube videos that I've watched 5+ years ago and some of them I've completely erased from memory

It's probably because they weren't very memorable, but if it becomes a problem you can always just tattoo yourself with the most important plot points of the Star Wars prequels or whatever.

They just weren't that important for your brain to hold onto. Not to mention 5 years ago was right before the giant stress event that took up so much real estate in everyone's minds, so of course inconsequential stuff from 2019 went right down the memory hole.

I would classify that as normal if they held no particular meaning for you. If you'd said 6-12 months, I'd suggest a visit to the neurologist.

I've forgotten probably at least 75% of all the things I've ever watched, if not more. Sometimes I forget I've even watched things.
