You will almost never meet someone that likes Elvis and the Beatles, is always one of the other. Elvis got popular singing folksy-ish music that appealed to more conservative rural types and made gospel music to appease them when he did stuff that made him controversial, like screwing little girls. This kind of person, if they even still exist, has no voice in media, so you aren't going to hear much about him anymore.

The Beatles have always been much more popular with big city libtard types and thanks to stuff like imagine they will get glazed by libtards until the last libtard dies.

Elvis and the Beatles killed big bands and jazz more generally,
I thought it was the strike that killed them

I for one appreciated the Elvis related autism on display in the preceding pages, and hope it continues.

Elvis and the Beatles killed big bands and jazz more generally, so I don't really look too fondly on them, but appreciate some of their music in small, infrequent doses.

I believe it was Texe Marrs who hipped me to the fact that Elvis was a 'crypto jew', and seem to recall some material on that subject from a 2000s era conspiracy theory website.
"Crypto Jew"? Lol. Best info I've heard was that he was told by someone, in the 60s I believe, that there was Jewish blood on his mother's side of the family. For a period of time afterwards he took to wearing the Jewish star along with the cross so as he put it "won't be kept out of Heaven on a technicality". He may have decided to pursue some Jewish religious studies at that time, but he was making a study of other religions (Buddhisim and numerology primarily iirc, due to the influence of his faggot hairdresser Larry Geller. When his "religious studies" began to affect his work, Col. Parker put his foot down and made Elvis banish Geller from his inner circle, although he was allowed back by 1974/75 or so.

Beyond putting alot of weirdo bullshit in his head, it's not a coincidence that Elvis' hair looked it's worst during the 2 periods that goof Geller was styling it, lol.

I'm a fan of both, but if my life depended on it, I side with Elvis.

Elvis" gospel music, and his love of it was 100% genuine. Before he stepped foot in Sun records, he was trying to get himself accepted into a couple of local Gospel groups. In his down time, at home and in the studio to warm up, he sang gospel, almost exclusively.

As far as Elvis "screwing little girls", lol. In the 50s while he was still a teen/early 20s himself, I don't doubt he fucked some late teens that threw themselves at him, and of course there's Priscilla, his ex wife, but after he got out of the Army, his interest in women (outside of Priscilla) were fully adult women... like Ann Margaret.

The main thing that bothers me about my Beatles fandom,is I share it with alot of commie, hippie faggots, lol.

It was a death by many cuts.

Texe was a professional disinformation agent, so I just assumed he was spinning wild yarns with all that, but from what you say about his mother: now I wonder if there was something to it.

The king will never die.

Got
He dated at least three before pricilla and I really doubt the " we just kissed " story.
Got names there? Not saying he didn't date/fuck mid teens (14, 15, 16) when he was in his late teens early 20s himself, and they were making themselves freely available to him, but I do need to add the context that in his day, and where he came from (the rural south) "old enough to pee, old enough for me" wasn't that far off the table. Doesn't make it right, but it certainly wasn't a big deal back then. If you're implying he was banging 11 year olds... well that's just incorrect, lol.

To remove the context of the times and place he was raised to make some case that Elvis was some sort of life long cradle robber is just not factual.

Wasn't Michael Jackson a bit larger? Like people legitimately fainting just by being in his presence?

He was enormously popular. So was Prince. The artists that received god-like status are far less likely to be forgotten than "Shot dead Soundcloud rapper #552". A lot of the music right now seems as disposable as a last gen iphone.

I remember going to parades and local events as a kid and the souvenir sellers would have tons of merch with MJ on it. I had a pink metal tube whistle with MJ's face on it. You don't see that with whoever the next soon to be shot dead Soundcloud rapper is. The closest I can come up with is Taylor Swift. And that feels very astroturfed and culty to me. As culty as Elvis could be, his fame was genuine. Beyonce tickets aren't selling as well this tour. Cowboy Carter got her diversity wins. But maybe the core fanbase just isn't into it like they are her other dribble.

I'm so glad we don't have a modern equivalent of mj or elvis or any of these people and that they're being forgotten. Stop worshipping these morons like gods.

Give it time. We're in a music rut right now. Someone will surely pop up eventually.

The fuck is a "crypto jew?"

I would assume it has something to do with cryptocurrency except Elvis died (supposedly) before that was even a thing.
According to Google AI "an individual who secretly practices Judaism while publicly identifying with and adhering to another religion, often due to historical or ongoing persecution".

No, Elvis was not a "secret Jew". I've read this shit many, many years ago, but Elvis discovered his mom had some jew blood in her so he took to wearing a star of David, along with the cross so he wouldn't be left out of Heaven "on a technicality". He only did that for a short time, then dropped it afaik. He remained solidly Christian (mostly of the fire and brimstone Southern Baptist variety) for his entire life.

Elvis is about as recognizable as he ever will be. What other celebrity or historical figure would be recognized by their hair or outfit alone? Elvis is an icon of American and pop culture.

A few in my generation(late zoomer) are into his music, and you’ll hear him come up on a playlist, or we’ve discussed his music in the past. I was into his music for a awhile. Even know a kid named after him.

Elvis was a part of the monoculture. He belonged to an area where a select few dominated the radio, television, and film. Today there’s 1000s of subcultures and niches. No artists alive today will achieve the universal recognition musicians like Elvis achieved.

Like a user stated above, nobody will remember shitty SoundCloud rapper #376 when he gets gunned down. Might get a feature on his local news station and tributes on nerdy white teens snapchats.

I was just saying to my wife on Saturday that Elvis in his prime (for me that would've been '68-'72) was one hell of a live performer. The man could sing anything from old gospel tunes and country to blues numbers to standards and even fucking folk music as can be seen in the concert film "Elvis: That's the Way It Is". People today don't look at the man's body of work as much as they do the cultural figure and I reckon that's pretty sad because the King could perform. Someone earlier said that Elvis will probably be looked back on like Sinatra or Mozart and I tend to think that's true. Those in the know however will no doubt be more knowledgeable about music than those who who don't. As the King once sang: that's the way it is.

Última edición:
Elvis Presley was such a massive pop culture figure; I don't think he can ever be forgotten. Even if Zoomers don't know a lot of his music, they know who he is. Not to mention, he very recently had a popular Netflix special based on his life, so I don't think Elvis Presley, as long as we are not all robots functioning on Mars without any connection to our previous planet's culture, will ever be forgotten. I will sum up my post with this quote by Neil Young: "The king is gone, but he's not forgotten."

I for one appreciated the Elvis related autism on display in the preceding pages, and hope it continues.

On the topic of Elvis Presley and 2000s-era conspiracy theories, I remember seeing a video by a crazy preacher guy who said all kinds of stuff about Elvis being evil, and one of the things he featured was an interview clip of, I think, Mac Davis telling a story of how he was driving with Elvis in the rain. and Elvis Presley was able to part the sky like Moses. It sounds completely nuts, but he acted serious when he said it. Does anybody here know what video I'm talking about?

Influential artists legacies are often that of an accumulative, shared appreciation in tandem with those they inspired. Artists aren’t magical, as Billy Gibbons says “I just wanted to learn to play what I liked on the radio” Whatever your personal views of Elvis Presley may be, I’d venture to suggest if you count the rings of the tree stump back far enough, he’s likely even tangentially inspired an artist you love.

We are all getting better at painting, music and the other arts. Just the same as religion, it is a collaborative process and cooperative.

His name will lose meaning, but his affect won’t for a long time I believe.
