Is Big Pharma hiding the cure for diseases?

We already have cures for most of the diseases that stalked mankind theyre called antibiotics, its just that everything thats left is really hard to cure. Also we in the past 10 years just cured a hepitisis disease all it costs is a cool 100k for a course of treatment or a plane ticket to india and a couple hundred bucks.

"Antibiotic resistance occurs naturally, but misuse of antibiotics in humans and animals is accelerating the process. A growing number of infections – such as pneumonia, tuberculosis, gonorrhoea, and salmonellosis – are becoming harder to treat as the antibiotics used to treat them become less effective."

Which incentivizes them to sell the drug rather than keep it secret. If you can cure someone's cancer with a drug they likely won't address the root cause of the cancer (unless it's genetic then you're sol). Think about how many would continue to smoke if you could cure lung cancer with a pill.

After the 2006 paper there was a lot of focus on the beta-amyloid theory and development of drugs trying to reduce accumulation of it. Considering that in 2022 29% of phase 3 trials were targeting amyloids I would say a significant amount of money went into drugs that didn't work.
Curing lung cancer with a single pill seems a bit absurd, cancer treatments take like at least a year of constant medication to work. But yea I agree.

But the beta-amyloid theory that the paper was lying about could still work. I think the fraud was about a very specific kind of molecule, and the general theory isn’t exactly btfoed yet. We will just have to see.

my theory has always been we could very easily cure most things but there is a lack of funding and interest in doing so as there would be no money to make if you can just fix something like aids or cancer instantly. i also think a majority of scientists are lazy and not as interested in discoveries as they used to be.
