Frieren's main character is a mage who hunts and kills demons, and the majority of the demons are depicted as being human-appearing creatures who use words and rhetoric to target human's emotional responses and evoke sympathy, so humans let their guards down, allowing said demons to easily attack and kill.

There is an episode where a demon is given a chance at redemption, uses it to gain trust, and then kills again, and when confronted starts crying for its mother, when Frieren points out it has no mother, the demon admits it just cried for a mother because that is a phrase that makes humans stop.

Shitlibs on Twitter got mad about this portrayal of demons for obvious reasons. A quick youtube search will show countless videos trying to explain why "ackshually the demons in Frieren deserve sympathy because blablabla Frieren is a meanie and demons acted sad" or "blablabla we should invoke philosophical arguments to give 'benefit of doubt' to creatures which openly lie and deceive 24/7 for the purpose of killing" which literally proves the show's point lmao.

Edit: point is that Frieren is both anti-demonic and publicly criticized by those who promote degeneracy.
