a 3d triangle as an extension of the simplex series is a triangle-based pyramid, or tetrahedron, which is also one type of pyramid

this cannot be the case, since a pyramid isn't a prism, and a 3d triangle is a prism
how the fuck can a 3d triangle contain quadrilaterals numbnuts. extrusions aren't a higher dimensional form of something, they're extrusions

a triangle is either a 2d shape and asking what it is in 3d is nonsensical, or it's a simplex and the 3d variant is a tetrahedron
