My theory on the drugs charge based on other incidents of Americans getting busted in east Asian countries is that he had a weed vape he brought along or something similar, they found it when they arrested him and now they're charging him for it. If he was just your typical American tourist they would just deport him and ban him from ever entering the country again, but based on his behavior in Korea up to that point he might actually end up in prison.
