Interesting Nazi stuff. - Just some stuff I came across, the first time I researched Nazis.

In Asia, Nazi imagery is largely seen as benign, or sometimes lauded. Just a cool looking uniform.

However Asias approximation of the Nazis is the imagery of the Imperial Japanese. Who due to their actions, especially in Korea and China, are largely reviled.

Did you know there was a Nazi rally in NYC in Madison Square Garden in 1939?

The 1939 rally was staged as part of an overall propaganda campaign by the US government to convince the public that nazism was a threat inside the united states and that the usual extreme measures for security were necessary to save the country from the evil within.

The rally happened because the then mayor of New York (LaGuardia) wanted it to happen and because the owner of Madison Square Garden (tex rickard) suddenly made the Garden available to them. Without every power in the city of New York (and beyond) lining up to make that event happen, it wouldn't have happened.

They surrounded the arena with all the police that the city could spare and the government basically made it clear that nobody would be allowed to interfere with the rally.

After the group (the bund) had served its purpose, law enforcement rolled the whole thing up and sent the leadership to prison. Photographs and film from the event were used for years after for propaganda purposes. The photographs were especially useful in that that they showed the Nazis celebrating George Washington which was taken as showing that anyone not on the left or talking about American Nationalism might as well have been a nazi.

This was one event among many that was kind of the lead-up to the passage of the Smith Act in 1940 which effectively gave the US government broad powers of imprisonment for anything which could be interpreted as criticism of the government. Essentially making political speech itself illegal.

It's interesting going back to look at the photos and seeing the interaction. Stalin friendly with the United States and Britain. Hitler friendly with the Royal family and Japan.

If Hitler was gay, that means he would have trooned out by now.

If all right wing people are literally Hitler and all gay trannies are literally Hitler, then maybe we have more in common than we know.

I didn't know that, but what's interesting to me, is during WW2. Western Ukraine allied with the Nazis, while Eastern Ukraine allied with the Soviets.

Well. Many of the initial collaborators were "Western Ukrainians" who happened to live in Poland in 1939. These exile groups had long-term ties back to the first world war and Austria-Hungary. From a time when Austria-Hungary had vague plans if they won the war to create a new Ukrainian Kingdom.
The exile groups were split into multiple factions at the start of the war. The factions roughly followed who was paying the bills of the particular exile group.

The OUN-B decided to ally with the Germans in 1941. But being terminally stupid, they decided (without consulting the Germans) to declare Ukraine an independent state a week after the Germans invaded the Soviet Union. The Germans didn't like this, detained some of the leadership of the OUN-B and switched their support to the OUN-M.

OUN-M was again made up mostly of Ukrainians who in 1939 had lived in Poland. The OUN-M was given various responsibilities within the German occupation of Ukraine and allowed to recruit new members there. But the OUN-M was as conspiracy minded as the OUN-B was and had a partial falling out with the Germans. Eventually both OUN-M and OUN-B were operating within the German occupation system of Ukraine but not completely for the German occupation system of Ukraine. They often fought among themselves or operated as bandits within the war zone.

Around the end of 1942, the Ukrainian forces concluded that the Germans were probably losing the war and began to make their own plans for a post-German future. They continued fighting a partisan war in the Ukraine against the Soviet government until some point around 1950.

"Eastern Ukraine" is a complicated term. Because it often refers to Ethnically Russian areas which were incorporated into the boundaries of the Ukraine created as part of the Soviet Union. There were plenty of people in those areas who collaborated with the German troops for a variety of reasons. But it wasn't an area where the OUN nationalist groups had alot of time to operate or organize. German rule in some of those areas sometimes only amounted to a few months and happened at a time when German victory was a whole lot less certain.

Generally the Ukrainian nationalist groups were untrustworthy and as interested in fighting with each other for power in Ukraine as they were in fighting for either the Soviets or Germans. The leadership and the core members all tended to come from places outside Ukraine in 1939 like Poland.

Did you know, in 1938, the Nazis captured Baron Rothschild of Austria? Stripped him of his expensive possessions, wealth, and real estate. And then held him for a ransom of $21,000,000? The largest ransom paid for a single person in Human history. He was pleaded to be released by Queen Mary of the UK.

Despite their reputation of genociding Jews, the Jewish banker was held in one of the finest Hotel suites.

Did you know that there was a chapter of the Nazi party in West Samoa ?

Samoa became a German colony in 1900 and attracted a bunch of settlers throughout the years. During WWI it came under New Zealand’s occupation and was formally annexed after the war. When the Nazi party came to power in 1933 they looked to encourage chapters in other countries with a similar culture, like Austria and Switzerland. Despite being under NZ rule, west Samoa still had a significant German population.

In 1934 Alfred Matthes, a German Samoan, was allowed to start a chapter of the Nazi Party in West Samoa. He recieved Nazi literature and propaganda materials from the Nazi Foreign Office to help him get started.

The Samoan Nazi party had probably the most relaxed views on race. As most committee members were married to Polynesian women (and one even to a Jewish woman). The Samoan Nazis spent most of their time trying to get Berlin to declare Polynesians to be Honorary Aryans but to no avail.

The Samoan Nazi Party was dissolved by Berlin after an embarrasing incident where Matthes and his crew attempted to overthrow the NZ colonial government and were subsequently arrested. The German government requested that Matthes be returned to Germany via the German consulate in Wellington it is unclear what happened to him in the end.

The Nazi government considered the West Samoan Nazi Party to be a “disgrace” and promptly forgot it ever existed. However the idea of a Nazi party in Polynesia that was ok with racemixing is still a humorous story.

Without the defectors from third Reich. US wouldn't have nukes or a space program.
See Oppenheimer for example

Also research and treatment to hypothermia and many neurological diseases were forgotten thanks to Soviets and allies deeming the results "immoral"
Utilizing the rocket technology and jet engines the nazis developed and used to bomb allied cities was a ok though. I'd like a source on that but I don't doubt thy hypocricy.

I remember something from years ago. I was watching Australian TV, and a Politician said something like "Most Australians don't know this, but in the 1930's Australia almost came under the rule of the Nazi Party here" I don't know how true it is, I should look it up sometime.

Did you know Mongolian Nazis actually existed and served in the Wehrmacht?

The Kalmykian Cavalry Corp was made up of 5,000 ethnic Kalmyks, descended from Mongolian warriors of the 16th century who ended up collaborating with the Germans over the Soviets. Stalin was that bad to even these people.

As a result of the consequences of a few thousand people the nation was dispopossed and further displaced by Stalin.

The Kalmyks actually participated in various German campaigns across the Balkans, especially against the communist Yugoslav Partisans in Belgrade during World War 2.

On Oppenheimer

Ill have to timestamp various lectures about neurological diseases and hypothermia experiment among other things.

Nazi concertation camp scientists were really hit and miss, even valid results were dismissed due to third Reich.

The records indicate that at some point he was allowed to return to Samoa and died there in 1964.

There are two different possibilities they could be talking about.

1) There was the "New Guard" formed in 1931. They were a far right political party with tens of thousands of members and reasonably good political/military connections into the establishment. They got stronger as the far left in Australia got stronger in the 1930s. But after a constitutional crisis where a far left government got into power and was then removed from power by the British governor, their appeal faded.

2) There was the Australia First Movement of 1941. They were an anti-war/nationalist party in Australia. But they were led by a former communist intellectual named Percy Stephensen. Stephensen was a serious person and had alot of important contacts within the political and intellectual communities in Australia. But he formed his movement in October 1941 and the government rolled it up after war with Japan broke out a couple months later. The government arrested him and the others with no real legal justification.

The Kalmykian Cavalry Corp was made up of 5,000 ethnic Kalmyks, descended from Mongolian warriors of the 16th century who ended up collaborating with the Germans over the Soviets.

At the end of the war, they were outside of the Soviet Occupation Zone. But Stalin wanted them really badly and they were handed over to the Soviets by the British and Americans. They and all their camp followers who had travelled with them were mostly murdered by the Soviets. And to just to be sure, even Kalmyks who had been living outside the Soviet Union since the Russian Civil War were also handed over to the Soviets. The US kept back a few hundred and eventually brought them to the US. Because they were considered potentially useful for intelligence purposes.

And just to be sure, Stalin applied a collective punishment to all the Kalmyks (including specifically those that didn't fight for Germany and those who fought for the Soviet Union). Kalmykia was erased from the map, the towns destroyed and the population deported either to Siberia or central asia. They were allowed to return from internal exile only in 1957.

Did you know Hitler was based and injunaboo pilled? Hitler, and a lot of Germans read dime novels about injuns in the American West and thought "that's literally me!". He even went as far as declaring Cherokee honorary aryans, thinking they would fight against the Americans in World War 2. Instead they huffed listerine and petrol and as a result America is a failed state and Germany is the staging area of globohomo.
Also no idea about that last picture, the only clue I can think of is that it's old enough that the AR-15 with a red dot sight hanging on the wall was state of the art.

This goes back to well before Hitler and the rest; Germans have been slavering westaboos since there first was a wild west. Full and complete dorks for it, in the surprisingly modern mode of 'just make shit up and stick a few cultural signifiers on it' like with Karl May and 'Old Shatterhand.'

And it wasn't just some 19th century relic that Adolf dusted off. Street gangs in the Weimar era and then anti-Hitlerjugend teenagers afterwards both liked gang names like 'The Apaches' or 'Cowboys' and so on.

Even today the tradition lives on!

The hungarian paratrooper elite were really fierce. It is a good read if you like it.

Fun fact:
German science was the best of its time.
stroheimmaxresdefault-989680120.jpg
German women were also considered fierce warriors armed with advanced robotic technology.

They even came up with the concept of putting wizards into battle, which caused Redditwards headmistress JKKK Rowling to pen a seething tweet.

They also managed to invent a new way for using Shovels.

And lastly. Does anyone know what the deal with this picture is?
Not specifically, but there's a whole series of pics from that same shoot, same room, with different wierd, fetishistic stuff. All with the same girl, looking stiff and deadpan. My guess it's some edgy art piece, or maybe a fashion shoot; It's very professionally shot, and just has that pretentious, edgy, art-school vibe.

It is not /x/ thing. Stories about Nazi UFOs were around before the internet.
Yeah, in pulp scifi magazines in the 50s and 60s, the "nazi UFO" thing was a popular meme. I know that's where the stories of "die glocke"/"the bell", a supposed nazi UFO/time machine originated. Also the connection with hollow earth, and secret Antarctic bases- All still popular in the tinfoil scene, today.
