Interest in non-English Boards

I wonder where shit lies legally. If you are German and talk about german people on an american website that is hosted and has mostly american users, are you fucked?
Can anyone but US authorities subpoena the Kiwi Farms? Because i know of IBs in multiple different languages that, despite being hosted in the US, can be subpoenaed by local governments because it's still being run by someone in that jurisdiction.

I've been trying to find internet culture in Swedish for years since Flashback became obsolete.

I'm often surprised at how many swedes we are in this forum, but I guess the answer lies in our very old tradition of shitposting anonymously about fags and niggers being stolen from us when flashback turned woke.

Anyway, our thread in international clique is not that active, and the lol cows posted there are just actual retards most of the time, so I'm not sure our own board would add much of substance.

personally I think it'd be best to focus the site specifically on English, since the more that each language group grows the harder it is for the userbase to understand one another (even if segmented into boards)

maybe you could consider having language-specific variants of the site entirely sort of like Wikipedia to make it very clear that the users on each aren't meant to intermingle in that language?

Why dont you add a language select for the site? So e.g. if you pick German, the site displays a list of German forums that are seperate from the English ones. That way you can add differnet sub forums, off topic and polisperg shit in multiple languages, give ESLs their own site instead of cramming them into a subforum and have a convenient overview which languages are how much in demand. It would also be more attractive to newcomers since they would have their "separate" site from the rest.

I speak Danish, but I don't really think there is Any reason to include it for cows.

Similar to Swedish in that I do not think I have ever met a Dane younger than 65 who did not have at least halting command of conversational English, and any Danes who don't speak English speak German in my experience. The only Danish cow I can think of off the top of my head is Kittystyles, and he and his alogs all speak English.

I also feel that us Finns are a bit overrepresented, even if we still have Ylilauta.
My swedish is fluent, but not great and irl I probably sound like Finkel from "Dom kallar oss Tratten och Finkel" (back from the day when racist caricatures were ok and funny) I just like to keep up my language skills and maybe have discussions like you can have with Swedes one on one, but all of the internet in Swedish seems so sanitized now.

Many probably read forums in languages they somewhat understand, but do not know sufficiently to post. I read the German and French threads sometimes, but I would never post. But I promise to post if MagmysMicke gets his own thread and is still active.

I'll take this opportunity to make a plea to my fellow pasta citizens: our thread is a mess. We barely talk about lolcows, we almost always end up talking about politics and shit on the terroni (rightfully so). I understand that this is probably the only place we can vent our many, many, many frustrations anonymously, but it is just not fun. Our main focus should be on lolcows.

Ironically the only ones I know of are probably dead or disappeared from the Internet so I'm not of much help but if any Italians/Italian speakers do follow any I beg you to post about it.

Well, there's obviously going to be FAR more EFLs than ESLs, IP addresses (excl. VPNs etc) would be enough to figure that out

I am personally not sure how to answer the poll.

I am ESL, so if there are threads on local lolcows, I will check them out. But I am not really interested in engaging the discussion in any other language but English. I would not mind providing translations if it was interesting enough, at best.

Maybe it's just me, but I grew up with the internet being pretty much English only, and I have a hard time with local communities. Even more so when they are a small subset of a larger English speaking community.
