Infidelity Can Be Self-Care for Women
Social scientists have been trying to crack the code on why committed partners engage in infidelity for many years, mostly because an estimated 20 percent of married couples and 70 percent of non-married couples endure some level of cheating — and those are just the ones who admitted it or got caught.

Along those lines, a recent study tracked the relationships of 947 adults over a 12-year period in which 609 participants had an affair and 338 were cheated on. Men and women across the board committed infidelity after they felt a decline in their personal well-being, and “this decline might be a reason for starting an affair or even an intentional distress management strategy,” the study authors explained.

Simply put, people cheat because they’re trying to feel better about themselves.

The only problem is that for men, this impulse mostly backfired, and the more committed they were in their relationships, the worse they felt about themselves after an affair. On the flip side, women “seem to recover and even thrive after infidelity,” the researchers noted, echoing past findings that women are more likely to cheat when they’re unhappy with a relationship.

Basically, when women cheat, it’s possible they’re cheating their way out of a bad situation, often with someone they have a deeper romantic connection with, which improves their overall well-being. It might not be the most ethical form of self-care, but it can help some women who feel otherwise trapped.

Conversely, men tend to cheat more randomly, according to psychotherapist Robert Weiss, who wasn’t involved in the new research. “A man who casually cheats may do so without feeling a significant degree of emotional connection to a mistress, while a woman who cheats could see things differently, with sex and emotional connection intermingled in ways that make compartmentalization more difficult,” he explained in Psychology Today.

In other words, men don’t cheat because they want to hurt their partner or even because they want to end their relationship, but because they got caught up in the moment and thought they could get away with it. So even if they don’t get caught, it makes sense why they would feel worse after the fact, especially if they love the person they’re with.

Women, on the other hand, don’t feel bad because they’re too busy looking for the door.

This has major "I have to shoot up because it makes me feel good" vibes. Sure, obviously self-destructive behavior might make you feel good at that moment, but in the long run it's going to fuck all sorts of shit up. The author of this article has the intelligence of a six year old child and is going to rationalize her way to a miserable, lonely life that she will completely deserve.

In the 11th hour, she'll just find some sufficiently pathetic dude who's so desperate for a crumb of pussy that he's willing to save her from her self-inflicted life choices.

They always do.

When did self care stop meaning ‘take some time and read a book, let the kids do the washing up tonight, maybe have a lie in and go for a nice walk tomorrow’ and start meaning ‘follow your every hedonistic impulse no matter how destructive, you’re worth it’ ?
Who gains when everyone is trained to have no stamina, self control or future orientation, but instead instantly fulfills every whim no matter how self destructive or damaging to society? Marshmallow test, people!

Yeah it's certainly "self care" for the kids that now have to deal with the shitshow that is having divorced parents that hate each other while not even being halfway to their 18th birthday. It's "self care" for the spouse who will now inevitably have self esteeem and trust issues with finding new people especially if the relationship was long running and the other party did nothing to resolve the issues in the relationship before cheating.

Notice how the article focused solely on those that were cheaters and not the ones that were cheated on. Take another note on how they don't even write a single sentence saying "maybe you should just end it or try to talk things out first before cheating" and just go "yass queens feel healthier and happier while cheating men feel like shit!" This isn't the win they think this is.

No one deserves to be cheated on except maybe extremely abusive partners, and those that have cheated on their previous partners. Your best bet is to try to GTFO as safely as you can if your partner is actually abusive, because if you think they were abusive before you got caught then I have some news to tell you...

The elites do. Making people controlled by their impulses makes them perfect consoomers, and it results in a low trust, high crime society that is "justified" in having more draconian laws that benefit the elites. Low impulse people also vote for those that they are told to, and get easily swayed by politicians that promise them the world while delivering them the middle finger. They don't give a fuck about how many people die, or how shitty society becomes as long as they get to live comfortable lives and the peasants can't raise a hand against them. These "people" would rule over a pile of dirt as long as it means they have the shiniest rocks on top of it.

See, I unironically think that the guys who tell me I'm a loser for hating women just don't spend any time around women.

I was educated in a predominately female industry, and I work in a predominately female industry, and I have managed predominantly female employees while working for a female boss. Women like this are not the exception, they are the rule.

Oh how cracked has fallen... Silver lining, we get slutty journoscum in blonde, brunette, and redhead!

How is that second woman wearing long sleeves when the undershirt doesn't extend to cover her stomach?

Is she wearing a weirdly shaped leotard? Are the long sleeves sewn onto the white shirt? Are those really long arm socks?

Almost immediately after the term was coined.

She's over 35 at this point, so her prospective pool of simps is going to grow shallower each year.
And now you're closer to understanding why young men have recently caught a case of fetishizing "assertive/dominant*" older women.

*lmao

“Marriages don’t break up on account of infidelity. It’s a symptom that something else is wrong.”

“Yeah? Well, that ‘symptom’ is fucking my wife!”

What even happened to this miserable website? It's like it got infected with some virus and now it's a walking corpse of its old self. Very sad.
Cracked was my first real exposure to the rot of woke ideology/identity politics, even as early as 2011-ish. It's too bad because they made some really good stuff for the first few years after the relaunch.
